Guest guest
Niccole, I requested this test by my GP when we kept raising my Armour, my TSH was down and yet my FT4 kept dropping and I just felt horrible. She refused to run the test. One doctorectomy later I went to a PA who specializes in women’s hormones/health and he ran the test without me even asking. Low and behold the RT3 came back above normal. He raised my Armour dosage and added supplements too. The number is coming down. He just tested it again since we’ve started other hormones and I still have some exhaustion. My background is Hashimotos and a TT almost 14 months ago. I am an almost 40 year old with children ages 2 & 4. The stress my body has gone through and is still going through can keep the RT3 production raised. When I first was found to have a goiter my endo ordered blood work even before the scan so that he would have the full picture the next time we met. I have found that the best doctors I have gone to do not get offended when I am proactive and ask for tests to be done. It never hurts to ask. Are you currently on any thyroid meds? I hope you are able to find answers and begin feeling well soon. Let me know if you have any other questions, Penny From: Texas_Thyroid_Groups [mailto:Texas_Thyroid_Groups ] On Behalf Of granolaniccola Sent: Friday, January 09, 2009 3:29 PM To: Texas_Thyroid_Groups Subject: Has anyone been treated for Reverse T3 Dominance? I have no idea what I'm looking at, but I know that I cannot continue to feel this miserable. Every week that goes bye it gets harder and harder to deal with all of these symptoms. I want to ask my CNP to run a reverse T3 to see if I have reverse T3 dominance, but she is hesitant to do anything else until I have my goiter scan. I can't get into an endo until 02/13. Has anyone else on here been treated for RT3 Dominance? Did you have a doctor in the Dallas Metroplex that treated you? Please share your experience(s) - thank you! Guest guest
Thank you for responding, Penny! I'm in a very similiar boat as you - I've had 3 children in the last 4 years and have had to deal with some tough family issues. What supplements are you taking? I'm going to ask my CNP to run the RT3 and the TSI before I go to the endo that way he has it all in front of him. Thanks for the recommendation! > > Niccole, > > > > I requested this test by my GP when we kept raising my Armour, my TSH was > down and yet my FT4 kept dropping and I just felt horrible.
