Guest guest
I can also recommend Dr. Gilbert Manso. He is a GP in Houston. He will test for cortisol and such. The reason that I left him and went to Dr. in Lubbock is that I am way to complicated for just any dr....meaning I have too many overlapping issues which included intolerance to Armour at first, adrenal issues, yeast overgrowth, etc. I do know others that he has successfully treated with Armour. >> I was seeing Dr. Arem but can't afford him anymore,(doesn't take> insurance). He diagnosed my Hashimotos and had me on 15 mg of Armour> and 12.5 mg of Levoxyl. Guest guest
I had exactly the same experience as with Dr. Gilbert Manso. I sent him ALL my records along with a detailed letter explaining my history (adrenal/thyroid)....his nurse called me back about a week later and said they wished me the best and prayed for my recovery, but my case, in her words, was 'beyond Dr. Manso's expertise level'. I was very grateful that they didn't waste my time and money. SO FAR, I'm having good luck with Dr. Pucillo's office after 3 visits, BUT.....Dr. Zobairi, his partner, is trying to find me an endocrinologist (hopefully not to pawn me off....) that has expertise in 's Disease and Hypothyroidism. I'm supposed to call Donna, Dr. Zobairi's assistant on Monday for an update on the search. Their office is also covered by my Cigna Insurance in network. I also have a referral to see Dr. Escobar who is on Richmond in Houston. He's an Osteopath who specializes in neurology. Once I get my thyroid levels up I do plan on seeing him, but I suspect many of my neuro issues are thryoid related. His office told me that he spends at least an hour with his new patients and being an Osteopath they have a view of the 'whole' patient and a bit more homeopathic bent. I'll let you all know my evaluation of him when I do see him. Steph S. Guest guest
I did not require any supplementation so I can't comment on that. He did do a 24 hour saliva test, I remember that. Will he actually treat adrenals that are low? Like someone who is between10 and 15 on the am test? Kate GAt 09:58 AM 1/25/2009, you wrote:>I can also recommend Dr. Gilbert Manso. Guest guest
So what were you results? I guess I'm trying to see if he blows off adrenal issues but makes it look like he checks them. I'm confused, you said that one of the reasons you left was over lapping issues, one of which was adrenals. Guest guest
I would have to look that up...don't have time right now. What I am saying about Dr. Manso is that he is a good dr. but if you are as complex a patient as I am, go to someone who you have heard on this group is good for adrenals. I don't think Dr. Manso blew off the adrenals, mine aren't that bad...even Dr. didn't treat them...he wants to see what the Armour will do for me. So what were you results? Guest guest
& , How would you rate Dr. Manso just as a GP? I am looking for a local general GP for the random cold, ear infection, etc. We used Kelsey Seybold until our insurance changed and no longer covers Kelsey Seybold. Guest guest
Dr. Pucillo does handle the adrenals and, I believe, does have the condition himself. Dr. Zobairi does not handle this connection to the hormonal system. He makes that connection. Have you seen Dr. Pucillo at all since you've been there? One of my daughters insisted on seeing him for the more complicated end of things,, once she'd seen Dr. Zobairi a couple of times, but it was just that-----insistance on seeing Pucillo. Now she takes her children there-only, and her husband has changed doctors to him also, with problems found with him, too. This is not the daughter who has the husband with follicular thyroid cancer. As you can see, my family is riddled with thyroid disease, and related hormonal problems, including those relatives who are not blood related.
