Guest guest
Thank you for letting me join. This is only my 2nd Yahoo group experience so please bear with my novice. I put my mail on digest and tried to read some of the posts today to become comfortable with the group. It's good to see all the networking here. I just wish we were all networking for a different reason. My situation is .. I'm 47, average height and weight. I'm cervically fused at C4-5 ( 1996 ) and C5-6 ( 2000 ).No hardware. My grafts failed causing my spine to become 55 degrees malaligned. I haven't worked since 2001 and am presently on SS and Pennsylvania comp. We moved to Florida last March and I cannot get anyone, let alone an orhto surgeon to take my out of state comp. I have had some nasty symptoms that have increased since last fall. In November I had been referred to a TMJ specialist because my jaw had begun to bother me considerably. I had an MRI and turned up with a badly dislocated jaw both sides with no recapture and tears. We're working with a splint to try to heal it conservatively. The headaches, earaches and dizziness are awful. The dentist suggested I follow up with a rheumatologist who gave me a fibro/chronic fatigue diagnosis. This seems to fit very well. As I was researching my new symptoms regarding my spine I found the jaw link to the C spine. My periodontist confirmed this as their has never been a TMJ problem until this past fall when my upper back pain increased, arms got heavy, spasms and more. My gait is affected some days. I've lost a lot of dexterity both sides. I've been taking Darvocet X 4 for pain and Xanax for anxiety/panic. The xanax I've been on and off for years for panic. The amount goes up and down. I'm very med sensitive and can't take any of the ssri's. Before I type war and peace the biggest problem I have is getting a good orthopedic surgeon in the Tampa area who will take the out of state comp. If anyone has someone to suggest it would be very deeply appreciated. My days are pill to pill, nap to nap and constant moderate to severe pain. From reading the posts here it looks like many of you have dealt with this and much worse. Please pardon my whine. I can't type any more as my headache is too bad and my fingers hurt too much. I'll log on tomorrow. Goodnight to you all and thank you. Patsy
Guest guest
Hi Patsy, Welcome, My name is Fabian, I to have had C spine fusion. I had C4-5 and C5-6 fussed six months ago. and need C6-7 done. I have a plate which the DR. put in crooked, and to low. It is hitting on C 6-7 and causing me a lot of pain. I had WC in Montana and moved to Mississippi. I lucky and had no trouble finding a DR. here in Ms. to take my out of state WC. I think your best bet would be do like I did and call Dr.s from your phone book. Surely one of them will take it. I just pray it is a good one. If I can ever help you. if you just need to talk please feel free to e-mail me. Good luck, and god bless, Fabian gabby196@...
Guest guest
Hi Fabian, Thank you for you're response and offer of help. I have chosen litigation attorney's offices for references as attorneys seem to know who's who, good & bad. I've had some wonderful accredited doctors to present to but no luck on accepting the comp. I won't stop trying. I will be flying north to see my orthopedic surgeon next month and have many questions for him. Last night I had what I believe was my first migraine and all I can say is bless the poor people who suffer with those. Today I'm bad but better than yesterday. I've also treated myself to an extra darvo today. I'm very frugal with them but I believe this called for it. I wish you luck and many " good " days. We all have to keep trying and when we are frustrated, take a day to regroup and try again. My best to you, Patsy

Guest guest
Just a little FYI here.....really check this Doctor out first...and I mean REALLY! Talk to others that have gone to this dr., the works.... I've been online for 3 years now, and have talked to A LOT of people that have gone to this Doctor.....and, well.....I'd say that 98% of them would definately NEVER go back to him again. Especially since the first appointment costs you $5000. And, even if you have an appt, lets say at 1 pm on a Tuesday....you can sit there all day, and when the office closes, they'll tell you that you'll have to make another appt, which won't be for another 3-4 months. This is just what I've actually heard from People who's gone to see him already. So....Check him out really good first please....for your own safety.
