Guest guest
Anyone on Medicare should look into the Extra Help program, which lowers co-pays on Medicare-covered drugs in my state to either $2.50 for generics or $6.30 for non-generics--and this is for a three month prescription, very reasonable. The program may also pay your part B premiums for you. I don't know about the requirements in other states but in CT, assets are not counted, only income. It's been a G-dsend for me. In some areas, you may be able to apply through the social worker at your local senior center. In other areas, ask the social worker where to apply or check the Medicare web site. I've had Fentanyl patches also but the itching drove me crazy.
