I would like to say sometimes blood test for rhemathoid will not come back

postive and yet one still has the disease, my father was tested 5 times before

his came back postive for RA and I hurt for years and my dad kept telling me I

had RA but test kept saying no finally in 1988 the blood test came back postive

so I was finally diagnosed with RA in Aug 1988 along with graves disease,

(hyper-thyroid) now after nuking my thyroid gland and killing it I have a

hypo-thyroid (it doesn't work) I have to take thyroid meds everyday now. So when

it comes to RA you may very well have the disease but the blood test to confirm

it may not show it. Joint pain, swelling, redness around joints, general

tireness fatigue are symtoms of RA.

Morning stiffness taking a while to get loose and move about freely is also a

sure sign of RA. My dad had it pretty bad and I followed suit showing up in my

mid thirties and it has progressively gotten worse as each year passes. I am

allergic to all NSAIDS they've tried (break out in hives and itch till I bleed)

and most other off label uses of methtrotxate (sp) gold treatments none work on

me so I'm stuck with prenisone which is good short term but bad for bones long

term and the weight gain is horrible. The pain from RA is unrelenting and

deformities begin to slow you down I no longer can wear real jeans can't zip or

buttom them so all pants now elastic waist only, sewing is limited, crossing

stitching is out of the question for me now can't bend fingers to hold needle.

thing about RA it can also affect other organs not just the joints. Well enough

ranting for me.

Hope all is well with you and you and everyone else has a very Merry Christmas.

Not really. :-) That happens with osteoarthritis, and fibro as well. Ask

me how I know that. LOL
