Guest guest
So your response should be to DOCUMENT that they are placing him in a cookie cutter program instead of adapting on to MEET HIS INDIVIDUAL needs of a DOCUMENTED regression. If he’s mainstreamed, why can’t he go into the regular summer school program rather than the special ed one????? S. " Most people say that is it is the intellect which makes a great scientist. Last year during the summer, he regressed in reading and in the fall came in at a lower testing level than when he left kindergarten. He has not made significant progress this year in reading, and I'm afraid that he'll fall even more behind this summer and enter 2nd grade with a REAL deficit. I plan to get his kindergarten teacher to tutor him this summer (at $20 per hour), because when I ask for ESY services, they tell me he would be in with only severely disabled children and would not benefit. Is there a way to get the summer reading tutoring through the school district?
