So if I want to make 16 oz of cream, this is the way it

Don't forget that the total formula-including the preservative-must total 100%.

You would deduct the amount of preservative from the water. So your formula

should look like this.

Water =74.7%

Oils = 20%

Ewax = 5%

Preservative = 0.3%

Total. = 100%

If you write your formulas like I have done above then you can make any size

batch easily. All you need to do is punch in the numbers from the percentages.

Let's say you wanted to make an odd size batch like 510 grams, you would be

using the exact same formula except you would be adding the amounts to the

percentages and it would look like this.

Batch size 510 grams:

Water = 74.7% = 380.97 gm

Oils = 20% = 102.0 gm

Ewax = 5% = 25.5 gm

Preservative= 0.3% = 1.53 gm

Totals = 100% = 510.0 gm

As you can see the percentages never change, only the size of the batch. This of

course is assuming that your formula is perfected. While you are experimenting

you may be changing percentages to get the feel that you want, but from once you

have your formula perfected the percentages will be set in stone. Always use

grams in your formula they are much simpler to work with. I don't care if you

are making a 5,000 ounce batch, it will be much easier to work with if you

convert to grams first.
