Guest guest
I am on zoloft and love it I am on it for depression and anxiety. I also have been given tramadol but I don't like the residual tiredness that I have after I take it the next day. I don't find that it does anything for me but make me go to sleep and feel sleepy the next day. The zoloft keeps my moods on a very even swing. I take them in the am with protein, very important to take with protein. Like with eggs or banana's with peanut butter or toast and peanut butter or if you are like me and don't always get a chance to eat in the am I grab a peice of lunch meat or hunk of cheese and pepperoni and then take them. I am on 200 mg a day. I have been on them for 7 years started off at 50mg and was slowly increased as my body became used to them. It was just this fall that a doctor informed me I should always take them in the am at the same time and with protein, that the medicine needs protein to bind to in order to work throughout the day and honestly my moods have never been better. Good luck. Barbara Graslie To: CFAlliance@yahoogro ups.com Has anyone tried Zoloft? I saw my doctor this morning and he said that he has a lot of Fibro patients who have responded positively to low dose SSRIs and recommended that I start on 25 mg and back off a little on Tramadol since I am concerned about the dependency I have been experiencing. Any feedback would be appreciated! ! Thank you
Guest guest
As one mental health professional to another, surely you understand that physical dependence and the need to taper a dose is not the same as addiction. You are probably also dependent on the Cymbalta if you have been taking it for any length of time. SNRIs and SSRIs tend to lend themselves to withdrawal syndromes if not tapered slowly. This does mean your doctor lied. It means he misjudged what dose would cause dependence. But it's easily fixed. For example, I've taken Klonopin on and off as prescribed (actually usually less than prescribed and never more) for over 20 years. If I use it regularly, even once a day, I develop signs of physical tolerance, needing a higher dose for the same effectiveness, etc. But I was able to taper off last month in a relatively short time and now a very small dose is enough again. It's annoying, but I don't find it to be that big a deal, as long as these medications are taken as directed. Barbara S in Ct > > I think I took Zoloft at some time for depression. It was no better and somewhat worse FOR ME (might be different for someone else) than others I have used. > > > > Right now Cymbalta helps my depression and may help the pain, which I can tolerate most of the time with no more than Tylenol if needed. >
