Guest guest
Dear all o go through the current edition of the MGIMS news bulletin. It was a delight t I was carried back to 1981 when I was doing my Internship and was deputed by our Deptt of Community Medicine to do the 2nd year survey of the " then " pilot project of ICDS scheme which is now prevalent as the Anganwadis all over India. The two areas under our " ORBAT " were " Chikhaldara " subdivision in Amravati and the " Melghat " subdivision in Dharni Tehsil. I still remember the times spent by our teams in those zones moving around from village to village in the " Willyx " jeeps and the " ST " buses carrying the " Salter " weighing machines with a plethora of Forms to be filled in. It is indeed sad that despite cusecs of water flowing through the Ganga and crores of rupees having been spent on supplementary diets and wages of workers, it still devolves upon Institutions like ours and an NGO ex-Mumbai to provide health care and guidance to the area under consideration. Wish that the National wish was stronger and our conscience more moral for the upliftment of our women and children.
