Hi

I didn't read your entire mail

but i got the idea.

AFIRMATIONS, been there done that!

I started by wanting to say

that the only affirmation that works for me today

or, is my truth is:

" when you love you WIN "

But now I see it is not my truth

because sometimes I don't love

does it means that I lost?

Maybe, but i had rather see myself as a winner

so I drop all affirmation and

just go with the flow

I took a sleeping pill now

i might not make sense

I found this e-card on the internet, full of those positive

affirmations and " clichés " I´ve been fed with my whole life. For a

long time I truly believed in this and that it worked. OBS! I´m not

saying it doesn´t work for you, just talking about my own experience

here. I found the words so beauiful. I thought: " Yes, absolutely,

this is how it should be! I am a believer!!! " I didn´t ever slow

down, stop and ask myself: Is this really working? Is it true? For

ME? Since the Work entered my mind I ask a lot more questions. Let

me question this.

Beginning Today

Beginning today I will no longer worry about yesterday.

**Sounds like a plan. And my experience is that I have no way of

knowing if I ever will worry about yesteday again or not. I´s out of

my control. Sounds like a hopeless plan

It is in the past

and the past will never change.

**Yes and no. My father hit me. That is in the past and I guess that

won´t change, no matter how much I wish it would. What can happen

though is that I change my thinking about him hitting me, from a

painful thought to a peaceful one.

Only I can change by choosing to do so.

**I have a choise. Is that really true? I can choose to not worrie

anymore. Doesn´t seem like it. I can choose to do the Work? That´s

not my experience either.

Beginning today I will no longer worry about tomorrow.

**yes, I hear you. And can you please tell me exactly HOW to do it?

Tomorrow will always

be there,

**Really? Always? I don´t even know if there are a next 15 minutes.

waiting for me to make the most of it. But I cannot make the most

of tomorrow without first making the most of today.

**Wow. I didn´t know tomorrow had expectations on me. What I do know

is that when I have the thought: " Tomorrow I am going to do the most

of my day, or even, today I will do the most of my day " , I feel

great stress.

Beginning today I will look in the mirror and I will see a person

worthy of

my respect and admiration.

**And what if I look in the mirror and see hate, aggressivness and

fear? I know from experience that just telling myself: " No, today we

will see respect and admiration " wont take away what I see.

This capable person looking back at me is someone

I enjoy spending time with and someone I would like to get to know

better.

*'Yes, isn´t it great when that is what I see in the mirror? And

sometimes I just don´t.

Beginning today I will cherish each moment of my life.

**Please, give me a breake! Don´t you think I would have done that

already if I knew how?

I value the gift

bestowed upon me in this world and I will unselfishly share this

gift with

others.

Beginning today I will take a moment to step off the beaten path and

to

revel in the mysteries I encounter.

**That could happen. Although it might not happen today.

I will face challenges with courage and

determination. I will overcome what barriers there may be which

hinder my

quest for growth and self- improvement.

**Or I will be too afraid or too tired or just satisfied enough with

things as they are, to want to do any of the above.

Beginning today I will take life one day at a time, one step at a

time.

**Well, finally I agree. Is there another way?

Discouragement will not be allowed to taint my positive self-image,

my

desire to succeed or my capacity to love.

**So if I forbid discouragement to show up in my thinking, it won´t?

I don´t think so.

Beginning today I walk with renewed faith in human kindness.

Regardless of

what has gone before. I believe there is hope for a brighter and

better

future.

**Do you know what I believe in? This moment. Forget about the

future. Start now. Can this moment be bright, hopefull and good? If

not, what´s stoping you? Why postpone your happiness into the future

when you can have it now?

Beginning today I will open my mind and my heart. I will welcome new

experiences. I will meet new people. I will not expect perfection

from

myself nor anyone else: perfection does not exist in an imperfect

world. But

I will applaud the attempt to overcome human foibles.

**If someone sees imferfection and foibles in other people and the

world around them, I would guess it would be difficult to meet

others with an open heart.

Beginning today I am responsible for my own happiness and I will do

things

that make me happy... admire the beautiful wonders of nature, listen

to my

favorite music, pet a kitten or a puppy, soak in a bubble bath...

Pleasure

can be found in the most simple of gestures.

**I agree. And when I was as most depressed it didn´t matter how

much I told myself: To day I will... It didn´t happen anyway.

Beginning today I will learn something new; I will try something

different;

I will savor all the various flavors life has to offer. I will

change what I

can and the rest I will let go.

** Laughing... The oldest myth of them all: " I will change what I

can and the rest I will let go. " Never worked for me, and as I

understand it, it hasn´t worked for thousands of other people

either.

I will strive to become the best me I can

possibly be.

**How about: I am already the best me I can possibly be? Whether

it´s true or not, it´s such a peaceful story to me.

Ive read affirmations before.. Flo my Unity teacher gave the best

affirmations..

" The Lord God omnipotent rules and reigns supreme. " was one of them

no stress

Or " I will reason, i will will, i will act but guide thou my reason

will and activity to the right thing I should do in everything. "

Which is a good affirmation but stressful because i dont think i do

the right thing all the time. EVen though i have read there are no

mistakes and no accidents.

Anyway it is good to question affirmations which seem to be positive.

I liked the .. I am already the best me I can be now. -

I always think i need to improve.Its very stressful.

TAMI.. why are you taking sleeping pills..? All you have to do to

sleep is read a book and pass a misunderstood word and you will get

sleepy That is why Ron Hubbard said to use a dictionary when reading

his books. The note about a dictionary is in every scientology book.

because misunderstood words cause a person to blank out and then they

will be reading along and not have a clue what they just read.

And it can also cause a person to fall asleep.

Just read something you dont understand.

I dont think you need pills but it is not my business and i guess

maybe you do if you believe that story.

TA Tami should not take pills TA I should not take pills i dont take

pills. I should not be a pill maybe I should take pills. People

have told me that often.

Ron Hubbard did not help me much except that i met my husband on one

of the courses.. however, I do know a lot of people who have been

helped. And some of his information i still use to this day even

though i quit the course.. and it all applies.

I think it gets a lot of bad press and i dont think it is for

everyone it wasnt for me.

I am type 4

I am not interested in theories

I am interested in feeling sorry for myself, that is what I do

I am a drama queen, that is my job!

However there are other types

that knowledge makes them happy

So, there is everything for every one.
