Guest guest
I hear all the time that if I didnt lay down so much I would be ok and gain my strenght back , so I can relate . They just don't understand! Debbieg ________________________________ I seem to have had Orthostatic Intolerance for about 20 years. I struggle to do urgent things during the day. By late afternoon, I need to lie down until the next morning. Partly this is due to regular CFS fatigue, but also my OI gets worse throughout the day. Do others of you need to lie down later in the day ? Some of my few remaining friends object to my lying down so early - or hint that so much lying down is harmful. I welcome your thoughts, CFA people.
Guest guest
Have you ever tried lying down regularly during the day whether you have fatigue or not just 10-15 mins at a time perhaps doing that more frequently would mean more energy for longer thats what I do but I am a wheelchair user and not sure if I have OI ----- Original Message ----- From: p_beith I seem to have had Orthostatic Intolerance for about 20 years. Guest guest
I lie down with my feet propped up higher my head for about an hour before lunch and an hour before supper. I think of this as re-setting my OI to closer to morning level so I can function longer. Guest guest
I have OI, I do find laying down during the day helps. Also raising my fluid intake and adding Gatorade made a difference too. Guest guest
Thanks for the idea of lying down in the day, people ! I haven't yet tried that, as I have always been so desperate to get as much done, as early as I can. But, I will try lying down (and I'll try not to worry about what other people might think if they see me.) - B.

Guest guest
, even years before I had FMS, I used to lie down occasionally on the couch in an office I used in the evenings. I was very open about it with my boss and my colleagues and never had any negative feedback about it. Of course, I did always have my work done on time. I was just sleepy/tired from depression meds. Guest guest
I'm just the opposite. I have the most energy an hour or two after I rise and then again in the late evening. I felt very smart today when I remembered to chop up veggies for tonight's stir fry instead of trying to do everything at once. This is one of my strategies so that I neither feel overwhelmed or unable to do what I need/want to do.
