Guest guest
Believe it or not, I know exactly what you're going through. Diagnosed in early 80's with fibro/cfs, (fr. neurologist) rear ended in a car accident that caused damage to my back, protruding discs etc, neck, shoulders, spine / more damage shows up ea. yr. as I get older chronic hip dysplasia, sleep apnea, asthma, hypoglycemia, anxiety, depression, insomnia Myofascial Pain IBS Irritable Bowel Syndrome Fatigue Thyroid Disease Sjogren's Syndrome Hair Loss Anxiety / Panic Attacks TMJ Temporomandibular Joint Disorder Migraine Headaches Esophogeal Dysmotility or Reflux Raynaud's Numbness and Tingling Restless Leg Syndrome Muscle spasms and Severe Muscle Weakness Sleep Disturbance / Non Restorative Sleep Muscle Intolerance To Cold Body Temperature Fluctuations Disequilibrium - Impaired Co-ordination " Fibrofog " Cognitive function problems Neurogenic Inflammation Like Rashes And Hives Sensitivity Amplification Allergies and/or Environmental Sensitivities ------------------------------------------------------------------------\ ------------------------------------------------------------------------\ - Currently the TMJ is the most painfull thing I'm dealing with, it started yrs ago, but having previous dental work done, the dr pressed down so hard on my jaw as my head tilted in the downward position it has caused my jaw to pop, crack, grind everyday since that appt. I take narcotic meds but it's not touching the pain. Because of fibro my dr had given me Oxycontin but the cost, even with private and medicare, it was just beyond what we can afford. So ty #4- 10 per day/ 10 mg alprazolam & 1 mg diazepam both three tim es a day just isn't taking care of the pain, much less let me eat much of any sustenance. Since the health plan changed, it's jacked my alprazolam up to 97.00 for 30 days, so I'll be searching for two new meds to replace that and diazepam. As you can imagine depression is at a peak, even with Cymbalta, which i've taken for yrs now and has worked well for me. So , I really do understand your pain an then some. My poor husband worries when my headaches start, the jaw pain is so intense and I'm afraid of having a stroke, ...OH!! AND THE TENDER SPOTS ON THE CROWN OF MY HEAD. Have you had those before? I didn't know what caused them untill looking it up on the internet. A ton of dental work and I've worn down 4 ceric crowns. The mouth guard cost almost $200.00 at the dentist and of course he tells me the ones at Walmoart are worthless. If you have any words of wisdom, something I've not thought of or can point me to a different medication, I'd be most gracious and accepting. I apologize for the length of this post. Sincerely, > > Severe Constant Pain is causing me suicidal thoughts. I have had FM and CFS, since 1986 and Sarcoid disease since 2000, and I have done all that I have been told, prescribed, and recommended. I am now off all pain meds, blood pressure meds, anti-depressants and am trying the nutritional route, since I married a firm believer in nutrition and excerces only for all things. Guest guest
Fayellen, PLEASE resume your meds as prescribed. Good nutrition is essential, but not if you're dead. Sorry to be so blunt, but your post scares me. I have FMS, CFS, lupus, diabetes, constant pain and fatigue, cardio problems, etc., etc. PLUS lifelong chronic major depression. Believe me, I know how it feels to want to just check out and be done with it. Right now, with the help of max doses of 3 antidepressants, prayer, and love of family and friends I am functioning better and even having fun. It IS possible. Please don't give up. > > Severe Constant Pain is causing me suicidal thoughts. Guest guest
Wow we could be twins, we have the same exact dx. My dr. put me on morphine extended release twice a day and percocet 10/325 for breakthrough pain up to 4 times a day, this has lowered my pain levels to something more manageable, still can't work or do housework but at least I'm not in bed crying and throwing up all day. Guest guest
You know Terrye you do have a point for Fayellen or at the very least check with doctor before going off anything I mean sometimes going off things quickly without tapering them down can actually make you very sick! ----- Original Message ----- From: Terrye Newkirk Fayellen, PLEASE resume your meds as prescribed. Guest guest
Hi Fayellen, I know that I have thought about tossing all of my meds many times. However, as with so many other things, I think it is a matter of considering each med carefully, looking at the benefits and risks and making an educated decision. While our culture is way too inclined to pop a pill INSTEAD of improving their lifestyle, to refuse all medications is also an extreme position based on emotions more than facts. Meds are the biggest reason that average lifespans have consistently grown longer over the last 100 years. If the pain is driving you to suicidal thoughts, please consider telling your husband about it and going back on whatever meds will best help you at this point. You can continue to improve your nutrition and exercise with a goal of reducing and/or eliminating meds over time but clearly, nutrition and exercise are not adequate if you are driven to suicide by lack of pain relief. With concern, Margie > > > > Severe Constant Pain is causing me suicidal thoughts. Guest guest
Fayellen I agree with Terrye please resume your meds now as they should only be discontinued with a doctors direction! Many of these med can be deadly if you just discontinue!!! LOts of hugs!! Debbie G ________________________________ Fayellen, PLEASE resume your meds as prescribed.
