Guest guest
> > Excellent point > > What are the stressful thoughts that the smokers are trying to shut > down with smoking? **This statement assume that smokers are trying to shut down stressful thoughts with their smoking. To me this is a story that can be questioned like every other story. And i have of course done that:). And what I discovered (along time ago actually) was that a cigarette has no power to shut down my thinking. That was pretty interesting. And if your statement was true, my God what an unhappy person I must be!!! And I´m not. For me it is just not true that I am trying to shut down a stressful thought when I lit a cigarette. When I want to do that I have some very good pills, but that is another story...And most of the time I don´t want to shut my thoughts off. I want to hear them. I love to listen to what they have to say. Doing the work for me is such a pleasure, so when a stressful thought comes up, I welcome it, and throw myself over the JYNWS. > > Any smokers out there care to share what they think just before they > smoke a cigarette? **I am smoking one now. And I had your question in mind. And I listened real hard to my thoughts. And what I could hear was: Time to smoke a cigarette. That´s all. Sorry that it wasn´t more interesting than that...lol Love and a cloud of smoke, > > " There's nothing between you and love but unquestioned concepts. Guest guest
Hi sweetheart! > > Smoking is an addiction, just like drugs and sometimes alcohol. **Anything can be an addiction, it´s all about the mind. Smoking and drugs doesn´t necessarily have to be an addiction, like alkohol doesn´t. Some people smoke a couple of times a year, I have tried drugs 2 times and I am not addicted. Have > you noticed how hard it is to try to stop smoking? Just stop smoking > for a few days and I am sure that you will be able to find the > thoughts that you are trying to shut down with smoking. **I don´t have to not smoke for a couple of days to see what happens, even though I have done that many times, even for months. I just have to be in a situation where I can´t smoke and I feel the urge to smoke. The thought that comes up is: I want to smoke, I need to smoke. And then reality takes over the mind. It´s not like I ask the 4 questions, it just does the work by itself. I need to smoke, is it true? No. How do I know? I´m not! There is no way for me to get a smoke right now and that´s it. And the mind calms down. It settles. And there is peace. Then after a few hours or maybe half an hour, the same thing happens all over. Urge, reality check, peace. > > This whole idea of using things like smoking, drugs or alcohol to > try to shut down our stressful thinking is not mine, it is pure > Byron . **Well, I wouldn´t give Byron the credit for this, I had heard of this theory long before I ever heard of Byron . If you are interested in the truth may I strongly > suggest that you purchase 's tape set " The Truth Behind > Addiction " . also has many other tapes which also direct us to > the thoughts that we have just before we smoke, take drugs or drink > excessively. **Thank you for the tip! And when I am really, truly interested in the truth, I ask myself. That doesn´t mean I don´t listen to BK´s tapes though...
