Some acid reflux disease but nothing to becausing my symptoms. I bring this up because I am going through it now, for the past about four days non stop feeling like I could be sick but nothing. Tilt table test was the first positive test given me when seeking help for chronic nausea and other flu-like symptoms. Tilt test taught mr so much about my illness, and eventually, about my life. Tilt table test causes symptoms to be worse for awhile. Some doctors who know the relationship between CFS and our neurological symptoms don't recommend the tilt test. There is a standing test that is just as good if done with CFS protocols, takes about 45 minutes incliluding lying down in a remote, quiet, dark room for 20 minutes. Remedies include more water, frequent supplementation daily with electrolytes, adding salt to your food and, something you, Barbara, a day care worker, are unlikely to welcome as a remedy, resting with feet up, head back, often throughout the day. To read more about symptoms of neurological conditions often accompanying CFS, find table of contents article, " What are the symptoms of MVPS, Dysautonomia, Orthostatic Intolerance? This was around the same time -in the US anyway- of the advent of those awful commercials for the Purple Pill (reflux things). Took them awhile, then finally stopped... However another thing I did which was effective was eating just a few -as I could tolerate them and so my stomach would not be totally empty!- some very mild crackers. There are some out there which are gluten free; all sorts of damn crackers now, in fact. for me I just got plain old saltines such as one would get to go with soup when one had the tossing up sort of flu. Getting something such as that (or toast) seemed to help. (Also when I was throwing up before I found those things my dear dog would come into the bathroom and lick the soles of my feet which was .. odd, but comforting somehow. didn't help with the sick part, but took my mind off it a bit (smile). Hope that you are able to find something until this symptom passes. for me it did after awhile. Guest guest
I also had the nausea and vertigo the table worked great for me . I was extremely ill that day but felt better for months! hugs debbieg ________________________________ Hi Barbara, The test for ongoing nausea is the tilt table test which is likely to show your symptoms are neurological. Guest guest
Hi Barbara, I can really relate on this one! I too have suffered such periods of unexplained nausea for years and still do, although not as often or as severely as I once did. I tried all kinds of things but the thing that helps me most - don't laugh, now - is the basic, cheapo kind of gingersnap cookies. I just nibble on them a little bit here and there all day long. Ginger has " always " been known to help with nausea and for some reason, it helps me the most. You might want to give ginger tea a try too. Really, this has helped me more than any medications or complicated treatments, so give it a try. Maybe it will work for you too! Hang in there! Guest guest
As a 33 year CFIDS survivor i have slept on pillows ( or wedge) for years. proped up. I found that it is easier to breathe that way . I think that it has to do with the autonomic dysregulation and also with the cardiac abnormalitites-see paul cheney M.D. website for further info on his cardiac studies. diane ________________________________ I have this too its annoying do you find its better if you dont lie flat? I have to sleep with a wedge thats on about a 45 degree angle otherwise I too feel like I will be sick. they keep telling me its reflux but I dont think it is. people with CFS can get things wrong with their autonomic nervous system I am guessing its something to do this??? Guest guest
Just my opinion but kind of sounds like an ulcer, because you say when you eat it feels better. Maybe see a GI MD Could also be Orthostatic Blood Pressure--when you sit up to quickly your BP goes low and you can get dizzy and nauseated. I have been dizzy with my Lupus/Sjogrens/Fibro from day one. So bad in the beginning that I had to use forearm crutches to keep my balance and I fell frequently It turned out to be the Vicodin I was on can increase dizziness. Once I stopped taking it I wasn't AS dizzy/although I am still off balance to this day and have to remember to take it slow and be careful My Specialists tells me that 50% or more of us suffer from dizziness and nausea it comes with the package. I found my Yoga and Balance Ball exercises have helped me greatly with my core balance A good physical Therapists can also help with exercises. Your Doc needs to check you for all the obvious troubles it could be-some of which I mentioned above. You want to rule out any other problems. Not everything is caused by our illness--other things still go wrong...... Let me know how it turns out for you........Lynn > > For years I have suffered from unexplained baughts of nauseau, it will happen sometimes for days even weeks at a time? Nothings seems to help. Guest guest
some of those OTC meds can reduce acid reflux--some stop the body from producing acids--- They told me I was having gastric reflux when I was having a Heart Attack--I think medical people have a few diagnosis they just like to pin on people.LOL I find that eating 6 small meals a day helps me....Lynn > > > > For years I have suffered from unexplained baughts of nauseau, it will happen sometimes for days even weeks at a time?
