Colleagues:As interesting as this sessions sounds, it is competing with seven others.At this point I think I'm going to go to the Forum on Ventilation & Health.I find that often I need to educate people that the ventilation requirements of ASHRAE 62.1is not a health based standard, but merely aims to achieve an indoor environment whereno more that 20% of the occupants are dissatisfied with the IAQ. And so these sessionseems more relevant to the issues I'm dealing with, as I may get more ammunition for my efforts. Sincerely, W. Please consider this an open invitation to all members of this listserv to join in an important conversation and subsequent publication on the topic of true professional practice. Our forum will take place at the Indoor Air 2011 conference in Austin, TX, June 5-10, 2011. (See: www.indoorair2011.org) Specifically, this forum is scheduled for Tuesday, June 7th, 2011 at 3:30 - 5:00 PM. Following is the Forum/Workshop description as it will appear in the conference program: "The objective of this forum is to define the principal characteristics of true professional-level IEQ consulting by initiating a dialog among practitioners and other interested stakeholders. A series of succinct presentations will frame the conversation by examining the proliferation of questionable industry credentials, describing the required level of formal education and practical experience, and outlining the essential nature of meaningful continuing education, with a focus on the relevant research literature. We invite the audience to share their perspectives and to contribute to the development of a fundamental set of metrics and descriptors for identifying genuine IEQ consulting professionals."
