Guest guest
I am a lurker who has been " flushed out " by one of the co-moderators. I live in Western Massachusetts and have gradually become interested in the benefits of raw milk over the last couple of years. I've maintained a small flock of sheep for six years or so and became a grass-fed lamb enthusiast as a result of being educated by my lamb customers and by my association with a few other shepherds on the internet. Sally Fallon's book was recommended to me by another shepherd a couple years ago; I bought it and tried some of the concepts, but for the most part the book languished on the shelf. I had the opportunity to attend one of Sally's workshops this summer at the NOFA conference in Amherst MA, and that re-kindled my enthusiasm. I've located a local grass-fed dairy; however, that operation is a seasonal one and closes down in December; also, going there is a 100 mile round trip. I need to do more work on this issue, perhaps getting together with other interested parties in the area to take turns making the trip. I had been dealing with chronic pain in my hip for about a year and a half which has virtually disappeared since I stated taking cod liver oil and drinking raw milk when I can get it. Not sure which is helping or if it's both, but I'm amazed at the results. That's about it; I'm enjoying the posts and so glad this list exists!
