Hi Norma,

Thank you for getting back with me. I have degenerative disc diseas (DDD)

I have had C4-5 and C5-6 fussed six months ago and need C6-7 fussed. I just

learned that the surgeon that did my surgery put the plate in crooked and to low

so now it is hitting on the discs below it (C6-7) so I am in bad pain all the

time. I have had to have my big toes fussed a few years ago because the joints

were gone, and surgery on three fingers for joint damage from DDD. I have some

L-discs that need some fixing and my WELL I am falling apart LOL. And my DR.

will not treat my pain. So I am looking very hard for a good pain Doc.

If I can help you in any way please feel free to E-mail me any time.

Your Friend in pain,

Fabe

(Sorry about my spelling)

Fabe,

My doctor told me I needed my left big toe fused and I thought he was crazy

as I didn't even know they did this to toes! Anyway...was just wondering if

you could tell me a little more about this...how the surgery is, how long

you were laid up, pain? anything you can think of would be helpful.

Thanks so much!

Ann

Hi Ann,

Well it has good and bad like most things. I had them both done the same time.

You don't want to look at them after the surgery LOL WOW They looked like they

were cut off and put back on. As far as pain The first few day are very bad.

some of the worse pain I can remember. No kidding. But I think that has to do

with how it is done to. Every dr. is diffrent. The bad part about mine was, the

screws the put in my right toe broke and had to be taken out and a new one put

in. That was real bad. I could walk the next day. your in casts so you can walk

around. it is painful for awhile but it gets better fairly fast. I would be glad

to ansser any other Q you my have.

Very Best Wishes,

Fabe

Thanks so much for the reply. I was worried about walking because I live

alone so that is a relief. I am waiting until I really can't walk anymore

to have it done....or until the pain is unbearable. My pain doctor says I

should get it done soon because I am not walking propery and it is not good

for my back. I just can't face another surgery right now.

Thanks again...

Ann
