Guest guest
Muscle Media started out as the anti-fitness mag it was made for body builders and it talked about all the stuff that other fitness mags like flex and IronMan and Muscle & fitness, wouldn't talk about, used to have big sections on the use of steroids, which ones were good and what fakes to watch out for, I haven't looked at one lately, so I don't know if it is the same. I don't know if Bill used the juice or not, their are some pretty big Bill haters out there, most of them are bodybuilders that feel betrayed when he made the change from a BodyBuilders rag to a rag that everyone wanted to read (can't say that I blame him, more money in making the rag more appealing to everyone). some looked to him as their champion (for lack of a better term and when he changed his magazine and came out with BFL and changed EAS to put out the products he used to detest in his mag, they felt betrayed. here is a website from a couple of bill phillips haters http://mfw.tico.com/buttplug.cfm I read this yesterday, kind of funny you brought this up, I don't support their view, just interesting, the best thing to read is the person who put up the site about why Mfw really hates bill phillips not trying to start shit Bill > I hope I don't start a fight, but I wanted to bring some negatives > that I found. Guest guest
Ewww, yuck, yikes. Those guys on that web page http://mfw.tico.com/buttplug.cfm sound really immature and insecure with their masculinity. They sound like a bunch of homophobes to me and are just trying to say things to discredit Bill . Personally, I don't care about his personal life and I am not even sure why they make these insinuations and rude comments. Scum of the earth rednecks (no offense to nice rednecks). Guest guest
I don't believe the average person can get the results depicted in the book without quite a bit of supplementation, 'roids or otherwise. Andy > I hope I don't start a fight, but I wanted to bring some negatives > that I found. Guest guest
You linked us to a repulsive article. Bill packaged age-old body building wisdom into something the average person could read, understand and follow. He never claimed to invent it. Guest guest
Andy, Have you seen the video, "Body of Work"? I highly recommend it. Bill has never hidden the fact that at age 21 he was using steroids and wanted to be a professional body builder. "After realizing that this endeavor wasn't about health or fitness, it was about a circus combined with protracted suicide. And I said to myself I've got to get out of this." (his exact words from the video). It was then that he decided that he wanted to share with people what he had learned from body building and that is that the rewards of body building aren't just about physical strength, the biggest rewards are in building a foundation for your life that allows you to accomplish things you never thought possible. The video is probably where they get the information about the polygraph test. The original winners (1997) were given polygraph tests and three (not all) were questionable about the use of steroids. One person actually didn't pass on what his name was. But if you know anything about polygraph testing then you know they are not very reliable. They had urine test also and they all passed them. They decided to throw the polygraph test out. It's not just with Body For Life that only 1 in 15 follow through with a fitness goal, it's with any exercise program. People just want an easy way out, they want the quick fix. Bill never said he "invented" this information. He has just combined the most effective strategies into one plan. Call EAS and get the video, it's great and it tells you about how the Challenge got started and what Bill's intentions were. I have met Bill in person (twice),he is very down to earth and very complementary to everyone he meets. I'm sure like all of us he has another side, but I admire him a lot. Cheryl C. Guest guest
Bad Bill West : ) I could have lived without that link too, but I guess if anything it shows us how jealous people can get of someone's success and try to reduce their credibility. I agree. Bill is a marketing genius AND the program works. I can respect him even more for that. I hope he continues to make lots of money. Guest guest
Thanks for reminding me that I ordered that video and another of his videos two months ago and have never received them. I guess I will try again. I ordered online before so I will give them a call and see if they still have my order. I would really like to see it. Thanks for the information and explanation. I really appreciate it. It just makes me respect the guy even more since I know we all make choices that we later regret. It is great that we can learn from them and help others. Guest guest
Did you see his movie Body of Work? I think there were only 2 of the initial challenge competitors that were suspected of using steroids, and Bill ended up taking their word for it 'cause they SWORE it wasn't true!! Did Bill use 'roids? > I hope I don't start a fight, but I wanted to bring some negatives > that I found. I think there were only 2 of the >initial challenge competitors that were suspected of using steroids, and >Bill ended up taking their word for it 'cause they SWORE it wasn't true!! Actually it was 3 of the guys. Jeff was one (drool), I can't remember the other 2, I haven't watched it for a couple months. I'll probably remember about the time I mail this. Anyway, I don't think they should have given them a polygraph anyway, they are so unreliable. Especially if they were just going to throw it out anyway which just lead to suspicion from so many ppl. A " hobby " of mine is law enforcement/forensics/detectives and I've just seen so many ppl beat it and so many ppl not pass because they felt guilty anyway or was nervous. I think Jeff failed because he said that in the past he'd used it but not then. He probably was thinking about when he used to and was getting nervous. I personally think I'd fail *any* question just out of being nervous! Lana

Guest guest
Well, I've met a lot of Champions. First, I went to the first ever BFL Yahoo get together in Vegas last year. There I met , Abb Ansley, Hank , Jr., and Vicki Mangum as well as a lot of awesome BFLers like "Taz". Then I met Lezlee who lives close to me in Bountiful, Utah. She has open houses to discuss BFL. Next, Lezlee asked me if I wanted to go to the Slim Jim Victory Dinner for Make-A-Wish in Elko, NV, last August. One of the sponsors wanted her to come and she didn't want to go alone so she was looking for people to go as a group. Lezlee ended up not going as she had a photo shoot with EAS for the MM Total Training Guide, but I went (actually rode out with Everett Herbert in his EAS vette) and met Bill , , their mom, Suzanne, and Bill's beautiful girlfriend, along with even more wonderful BFLers. Then Bill came to Utah (SLC) last December for a book signing and I got to meet him 'again', along with his Mom and girlfriend. I also met Waite and his wife Tamera (from the MM article). He did the ad with the statue of you see all over. In April 2001, Lezlee invited me to Logan, Utah where her and Everett were doing a live promotion at a supplement store. I met lots of great BFLers there as well, and Mike from EAS (sells rep). I guess it is just luck and the fact that I live, sleep, eat, and breath BFL! Opportunities just seem to fall at my feet! What can I say????
