Dear All

First of all I wanted to say Happy New Year to everyone. And to say thank you

to everyone who replied

to my request of 'Where to start' and thank you for taking the time and trouble

to list some books for me it was very much appreciated. I am going to also book

myself on some courses this year to learn some basics etc. As well as look at

the books mentioned.

Now I hope you can help me on my next question. I was trying to obtain some

Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) as I understand this can act as a foaming agent in

various products. I thought I might try to add some to bath bombs to produce a

foaming bath bombs. However on looking into it further I found the following:

Stepanol -ME-DRY SLS Active 93% Powder

Stepanol-WA-100 SLS Active 97% Powder

I did want the powder but can anyone tell me the difference between the two?

And confirm I have got the right product for what I am looking for.

Also could you tell me if I would use the liquid form if I wanted to produce a

soft product (E.G bubble bar) and can I add the FOs or EOs to the liquid then

add it to the dry ingredients? Under the liquid

listing there are four types STEPANOL WA-EXTRA, WA, WA-SPECIAL, WA-PAST All are

ACTIVE 29%. Again if anyone can clarify the difference for me I would be

grateful. I assume if I buy the product the MSDS would give advice on % to use

etc.

Or perhaps someone could recommend an alternative product to use.

Many thanks for your help and time.

Tricia
