Guest guest
started getting speech via early intervention at about 6 months. She was still receiving speech until we enrolled at the new school down the street and that has been 2 months almost.. no clue what the hold up is.. as a matter of fact i am going to call them now and ask what the deal is.. we have got to get that back on track.. When was 5 is when you could really start to understand her as an outsider.. those who knew her well could most of the time understand her. There are still days when i dont know what she is trying to say.. i have to ask her to repeat and talk slower or pronounce the word better for me. , Momma to , 8 MDS and Devyn 6 MosaicDS wrote: There are 5 messages in this issue. Jenna should be learning sign language now so that her speech will be enhanced and she will be more apt to talk. I would recommend that you do request speech therapy, and I recommend you purchase the Communicating Partners book by Dr. Mac. His website is: http://www.jamesdmacdonald.org/ This method of play with your child will help her speech dramatically improve. I used a similar method with Tim when he was young, and his speech increase so dramatically, that everyone was amazed! Kristy jenna51304 wrote: How soon should speech therapy begin.
