I'm grateful for my dear supportive boyfriend, who still wants to marry me even

though he knows I could get worse as I get older and supports me nonstop. Even

when I'm being grumpy and miserably down and want to quit. He reminds me of how

strong I am every day. I dont think I'd be able to work and go to school both

fulltime. Without him.

I'm grateful for these spontaneous expressions of gratitude and

wonderful television with all its accroutements for enjoying tv while I take a

back seat to the mainstream of life and

much more.

Hi there,

Up to this point, I have been lurking here for about 9 months or so, but

couldn’t resist responding to this one. In fact, afraid that I am going to

respond in excess:

1. I am grateful to Dr. Newman, a Clinical Psychologist, who preformed a

neuro-psychological evaluation and testing and then wrote a report, which

strongly supported my case for disability. (and noted that he did not believe

that this was psychological in origin!)

2. I am grateful that the law firm recently won my appeal for Long Term

Disability from Prudential!

3. I am grateful that EVERY doctor (6 so far) that I have been to have

agreed on the diagnosis of CFS and that I haven’t been subjected any of the

horrible treatment that many of you have had to suffer.

4. I am grateful that winter is over in Chicago, although it is a bit early

to be in the 80s! *smile*

5. I am grateful to have found a therapist that I love (may have taken about

6 tries, but she is worth it)

6. I am grateful for spell check

7. I am grateful for my beloved Brother (my only family); he has Down

Syndrome, and is visiting me right now and since I have been sick has been extra

helpful around the house when he visits.

8. I am grateful for my friends

9. I agree with Toni, I am grateful for Television, Cable and TiVo, as that

has helped keep me from dying of boredom.

Cin, from Chicago

I like the way you wrote that--I just call it ''couch potato''

hahahahhaha--seriously I am very grateful for TV and Cable too---I think I have

learned more watching the History Channel than I did in college!!!!!

I am thankful for my husband. We have been married 35 years and he is my rock.

He works all day and then comes home to his second job. He cleans and cooks and

takes very good to me. If we go somewhere he even helps me to dress.

groceries etc--he was a fine example of a man---I still can't figure out how I

ended up married to such an idiot!!!! But I was only married for 3 years and I

was 19 when I did it--I am 52 now and never did it again--I did have offers

I have had so many bad doctors and it is so frustating. But after 3 years of

doctor after doctor who did not diagnose me I was lucky enough to go to the mayo

clinic where I was diagnosed.  Then the Fibromyalgia and fatigue clinics which

helped me medically but bankrupted us with dr and med bills of $1,100 a month. I

have finally found a doctor who has mild fibromyalgia and I pay a copay to see

him and he writes me meds I need. I am so thankful!

I know what you mean, Lynn. I often wish I had fewer doctors, as much as I am

grateful that I have access to such outstanding doctors in the first place.

However, it seems I need my internist, rheumatologist, physiatrist, neurologist,

retina specialist and more.

I wish I could take a break too, but the medication I am on means seeing them

more often. Still, I am grateful for these wonderful doctors. I just tell them

that sometimes they are the largest part of my social life--and sometimes it is

true.

" Bad doctors " Yes, very frustrating. It's bad enough feeling rotten as it is.

Bad doctors really make things much worse for their patients! Glad you have a

good one now.
