Guest guest
People with fibro can have Raynaud's syndrome which affects the hands and feet. I can have swelling of my hands, face and eye lids, go figure. Could you have a neck ( cervical ) or back problem? Perhaps a misdiagnoses? I know doctors way over diagnose CFS, at least they can be sure of FM. I, also, think they may over lap... I fit M. E. to well but diagnosed with CFS/FM. but don't not( good English) look into it, it may be something not related to any of these. Take care of you, God bless, Cee

Guest guest
I also have swelling in the morning mainly in my right hand. I also feel like both of my ankles are broken. It eases up as the day goes on. But everytime I sit or lay down I go through it all over again. I find that I feel a lot older than I am a lot of the time! Guest guest
yES i KNOW i JUST WANT TO BE TREATED IN SOME WAY HOPING THAT IT DOESNT MEAN ADDING A FEW MORE PILLS TO THE LIST. THE PAIN I AM IN MOST OF THE TIME OFF PAIN MED IS A 10 AND ON PAIN MED ABOUT A 5-6 SO AS YOU CAN SEE IT IS NOT GREAT IMPROVEMENT THAT IS WHY I NEED A BETTER ANSWER...BY THE WAY EASTER TO ALL!! Guest guest
I think-and this is just my opinion from my own life--being a 10+ on the pain scale is bedridden and crying out/unable to really do anything. My Medicine Kadian can bring my pain to a constant 5---that is HUGE--it hardly ever fluctuates so I get used of the 5--I understand I will always have pain--there is no majic pill---but if a med can cut my pain in half??? I am taking it......Lynn > > > > Debra, Just wanted to let you know that my miniature schnauzer's name is Schultz-named after Sgt. Schultz on Hogan's heroes t.v. show. Guest guest
6-8 is about where my pain levels stay on 4 different meds plus pacing resting planning and using heat a cream etc etc I find I am able to do a little bit every day no where near what I would like but thats the compromise. I agree I know I will always be in some pain and that this level is much better than what is was a few years ago when it was just totally off the scale totally housebound for 6 months etc etc so I feel I am actually doing quite a bit better when the fatigue hits somedays its quite bad but the things I have managed to overcome are amazing. There is no magic pill i am afraid its just a matter of finding the right combo of meds and other self management strategies to you to a better position so you can have some kind of life. Debra 5-6 a LOT better than 10 thats a fair improvement (in my opinion) I assume you can do other things as well as meds like pacing resting thru the day and other techniques?? They may not reduce your pain any further but they help me to be able to do more rather than running about not really being able to focus. Are you having difficulty understanding the diagnosis of FMS and CFS or whatever? Cause its hard to understand at first but once you understand it more u will begin to accpt it more its really hard and I hope you are doing better. ----- Original Message ----- From: lynn8953 I think-and this is just my opinion from my own life--being a 10+ on the pain scale is bedridden and crying out/unable to really do anything. Guest guest
I think it is also important to remind ourselves that pain scales measure perception of pain, not the pain itself. We all react and cope so differently. I feel I am really in a lot of pain by the time I reach a five. A ten is what I felt after I had a hysterectomy, for which I received Morphine. Even with morphine, I could not function due to the pain, though it was somewhat dulled. Even a three is a " lot " of pain to me, but I can function through it. More would probably make me focus on the pain rather than other things. Barbara S > > > > > > Debra, Just wanted to let you know that my miniature schnauzer's name is Schultz-named after Sgt. Guest guest
A 10 for me is being in bed unable to function, an 8 is being on the couch in pain i can't handle my pain pills takes me to a 5 or 6 and I can cope with that! I know my life will include pain but with the pain meds I can handle it!
