He actually told me to my face that he was tired of going into my back. Imagine that! Hell, he was the one who kept things screwed up in my back not me. I am glad that I no longer see him. I did get a bit of gratification as I heard that he had to have back surgery himself last year. That made my day and I do hope that he now understands how his patients were feeling and will now be more compassionate. I have a new Orthopaedic Surgeon now that has only done x-rays on me and actually refuses to do an MRI or a Cat Scan on my back. I had rods placed from T-12 to L-4 with Titanium cages at L-3. I have scoliosis which is now contained within those rods. It starts at L-3 and goes up to about T-12. My last surgeon put in the rods and cages. I was actually able to stand up straight for once. Now though my upper torso is angled to the right. No reason for this that I have found out and this new surgeon won't bother to check. My legs are getting worse by the day in being able to walk anywhere. I have a wheelchair now but can't lift it in and out of the car unless my wife does this for me. I still have numbness in both thighs and across my low back around to the front of my right abdomen area. It's great to know that this guy won't do a thing to even just let me know what is going on with the back. Not to mention my blindness which is making me a very hateful person because of that anesthetist. Oh well, guess I need to just say Que sera sera eh? Guest guest
Dear Kathleen, I had three foot surgeries and the doctor finally said " I have done as much as I can surgically for your pain. " He was maybe a little humbled because the 3rd time in he found considerable damage he missed the first time. In life I push myself, I have 4 young children, a six year old in a wheelchair and must help him. So I suppose anyone looking from the outside could not imagine what people like us go through. Saw a funny commentary on " Star Trek, Enterprise " , the patient reacted " Ow doc, I thought you were not supposed to cause pain! " The doctor responded, " First I am not supposed to do harm but I can give you as much pain as I like. " Sort of the motto for physical therapists.
