Guest guest
Extraneous Text deleted by Moderator Liz, This is me all over. After hurting my back, I was back at work full- time within 3 weeks even though I could hardly stand the pain. Why? - because we were short-staffed. I actually struggled on for a couple of months before I had to cut my hours in half, and then I struggled on again for 3 months. Looking back on it, I think I must have been insane. I was so worried about my colleagues having to work over-time and be stressed if I took time off. Somehow I felt guilty, like it would be weak to take time off, like there was some kind of moral advantage to sucking up the pain and soldiering on. Now I have been completely off work for 5 months. So how did I help my colleagues in the end? And whatever's going on with my back (it's still a matter of debate), working all those hours could only have made matters worse. So cheers to you for hitting the nail on the head. Diane Vancouver, B.C., Canada
Guest guest
Hang in there Liz, and thanks for the note. I agree with everything you said...... This is extremely frustrating for so many... I wish you much success in your ongoing battle. JB
