Guest guest
Has anyone thought to try your mom on a course of Cognex, Reminyl, Exelon, Aricept [all of which work by delaying the breakdown of acetylcholine in the brain and are useful in the early stages] or Namenda [projected availablilty in Jan 2004, works by blocking glutamate and useful in moderate to severe stages] or a combination? I take Exelon and am fairly stable on it. If my symptoms worsen, if I start having regular bouts of dementia, I will ask for Namenda. Exelon has definitely improved my quality of life.
