Guest guest
Hi Diane You are having classic gall bladder disease symptoms. There is also severe sharp pain in the back that occurs at night. I had mine removed in 1998 and it took almost a year for the fat intolerance type symptoms to resolve. I didn't have gall stones but my common bile duct was scarred shut from multiple infections. My daughter's gall bladder had not fully formed so there are many reasons for a person to have gall bladder disease. Good luck with the test but if it is negative don't be surprised or alarmed if your doctor orders more tests. Guest guest
Hi Diane: The symptoms you describe really sound very much like those that I had when I got gall bladder disease. I also had a fairly continuous pain under my right bottom rib. I did get very nauseated to the point where I couldn't even drink water so I became extremely dehydrated. At that point, an ultrasound was done and showed clearly that I had two small stones in the gall bladder so I had surgery two days later. The surgery to remove the gall bladder is very easy now since they just make a tiny incision. People can go back to work in just a few days. I had mine done right before that type of surgery became available and it took five weeks for me to get well enough to return to my job. Guest guest
Has anybody else had gallbladder disease? (I think said she had). What were the symptoms like? I did... I had severe pain in the upper right side of my abdomen about half an hour after eating, and lasting sometimes hours sometimes a little while. I never really found a connection with food (as to which foods did it) as by the time I complained it was horribly diseased. I was diagnosed and it was removed within 2 weeks. The lap surgery is a breeze. I never even required pain meds. I did however, post op carry a small like a throw pillow around with me for about 24 hours. Then it was back to normal. Was eating normal food the same day, and home the next morning ( my surgery ended up being at 5 pm, so they just kept me overnight). I was home ALONE with my son within 24 hours. I felt great. I did find some foods (cheeseburgers at burgerking especially) made me get awful diarrhea. If I eat more than Two a week I will get a good cleaning out still. But I'd do it over in a heart beat. Good luck Teri
