Guest guest
Hi Debi: Welcome to the group! I hope you find lots of support and information here that will help you. It is certainly true that being in constant pain is very life-altering. There are many things now that I can no longer do and I sure miss that. My brain still thinks it can do almost anything but my body has other plans. I am a huge animal lover, too. I have a great dog, Mandy, who is a Border Collie/Chow mix. I also have two cats who love to drive the dog nuts. Your puppy sounds like a very adorable little guy! I would love to get another dog, but I just can't due to my health limitations. I have panhypopituitarism, fibromyalgia, heart valve disease, GERD, osteoporosis, and IBS. I hope you are able to find a doctor that is helpful and caring. This issue is of paramount concern to everyone who has to deal with pain and illness. I think it's a shame that we have to worry about healthcare so much when we are supposed to be such a well-off country. My pcp is an example of what is an overall problem - he has to see so many patients in a given day that he has no time to find out enough about his patients and really look closely at what's going on. His clock is always ticking and he's always in a big hurry. I'm very sorry that you are having to cope with such a burden of pain right now. Getting the right pain doctor is so vital to your quality of life and the sooner you can locate one, the better you will feel. Take care! Guest guest
Hi, I'm a new member here. Let me introduce myself. My name is and I live in London, UK. I'm 50 something and have suffered with pain since 1994. It started out with what is known in the UK as RSI (Repetitive Strain Injury) but you may know it better as WRULD (work related upper limb disorder) or OOS (occupational overuse syndrome). This happened because of using a computer at a badly designed work station. Whatever the name I have had chronic pain from the tips of the fingers of one hand to the tips of the fingers on the other hand (going via the neck) since then. Almost 2 years ago, I broke my wrist and had to have it fixed with a metal plate. Since then I have been ultra sensitive in the area of the operation and have also fallen badly on several occasions, the pain of which persists. I now have a possible diagnosis of RSD, but definitely enough trigger points to warrant a diagnosis of FMS. It is interesting that several other members of this list also have/could have RSD. For those with (or possible) RSD, there is a new group set up on Yahoo that you may be interested in joining. To learn more about the RSD_International group, please visit http://groups.yahoo.com/group/RSD_International in CA has already joined us. - Thanks How's the questionnaire responses going? We would like the group to be international, so have a look and consider joining us. It is a support forum to come to for advice or to whinge, to make happy, or to act daft. But no Politics or Religion (within reason). If you don't hear from me again, I'm not ignoring you or only using this group to tell you about RSD International, but I am going on vacation tonight for 4 weeks. Catch up with you all when I get back. --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). Guest guest
Content of previous message edited. Fabian. hi there.... Wow, after reading your posts i am counting my blessing.... although i do suffer extreme pain on a day to day basis, what you have been through is so much more then my condition. U seem very friendly and outgoing, what a wonderful way to be, considering what you have been through and are going threw... don't lose that quality. What excatly is DDD? How are u being treated for this? such as pain meds, therapy etc??? i am always curious to know what type of pain management people are on. And yes, i would like to be your friend. E mail me anytime. I don't work (i can't work), so i am pretty much always around to answer and write e mails. Right now my foot hurts so bad, and my back is aching pretty bad. I am not sure what the foot pain is from, maybe a spur, but both the pains are driving me nuts right now but, writing and talking to other pain sufferers really helps... just to know there are others out there, who understand is so wonderful Take care Your new friend, Hollywood, Ca. > Hi , > I am new here to.
