I saw Dr. Owens today.  I really liked her and her office.  I also appreciated being able to use my insurance!  :)She suggested doing a 24 hr urine iodine test.  I agreed and brought it home to do this weekend. She wrote me an Armour script, but I am concerned it may be a little low.  She suggested 30 mg pills alternating 2 one day and 3 the next.  (What is it with these docs wanting me to alternate my daily dosages?!?)  I suggested I would rather be consistent and she said 2.5 every day was fine.I have most recently been on 75 mcg syn and 5 mcg (2x/day) cytomel.  Won't 1.25 grains of Armour be less than that?I also received my ZRT s*x hormone results today.Estrodial

2.2  (1.3 - 3.3)Progesterone  53  (75 - 270) *but I was a couple days later in my cycle than the recommended ideal days/dr. said go ahead anywayRatio Pro/E2  24  (100 - 500)Testosterone  63  (16 - 55)It will be awhile before I get adrenal results.  Dr. Owens didn't run the blood tests since I told her I had the kit to do the saliva ASI.  She said she'd rather wait for that.  She did order an updated Vit D and a Celiac panel as well as the Frees and TSH.  She said she is okay to keep TSH low as long as it shows up and is not <.001 or something like that.Overall I am very happy.  I just hope we can bump the meds up soon enough if they don't get my Frees up where they need to be.  Last time I was on 1.5 grains of Armour and FT3 was 401 (230 - 420) and FT4 was .92 (.8 - 2.0).  I'm curious where I will be after a month on 1.25 grains.

Thanks, Kim.  :)  I'm actually trying to convince my husband to make an appointment, too.  He's seeing a gazillion specialists and really needs someone like a DO to do a big picture look and check hormones, etc.----- Original Message ----

Grace,

Glad you liked her.. I really like her also.

Kim
