An adult can (and will) reason his/her way through things, while children only react. is 19 now, and whereas he'll never be Joe Sixpack, he's been able to turn the resources of a young adult onto his various problems, with good result so far. (All 19 year olds are only a rough draft, of course.) I haven't seen one of those horrible out-of-control rages, for example, for several years now.
