Guest guest
It looks like my son has a sensitivity to chicken eggs and I am thinking my nursling may as well. I just found out how insanely expensive they are shipped. (About $50 a dozen.) For those of you who buy them locally, how much are they??? I am so discouraged right now. We are a one income family/small business owners. My kids eat like grown men many meals. I am nursing and my 3 and almost 5 yo can match or out eat me some meals. For example, a four pack of Wills pork chops disappear in one meal, even when served with a whole grain, 2 veggies and a fruit for desert. How on earth are we supposed to afford this all, duck eggs included? I nurse my kids, do cloth diapers, accept hand me down clothes, make my own " baby " food, buy bulk grains, nuts and beans from Country Life Coop etc. Gardening just isn't doable at this stage of life. Chicken eggs were such a staple as they were a " cheap " source of protein. And I NEED a good bit of animal protein and fat to feel good after meals. Our food bill is so high, but I just am so sad about not being able to have fried eggs or make muffins and cookies and pancakes... Any thoughts or words of encouragement? How the heck do you do it? Are duck eggs more reasonable straight from the farmer? Discouraged,
