Guest guest
Persons wishing to participate in the USA's first clinical trials of Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid) can contact one of the doctors at the closest trial center to them for information. Those are: s Hopkins Dr. Ahmet Hoke ahoke@... Univ. of Rochester Dr. Herrmann david_herrmann@... Wayne State Dr. ralewis@... Unfortunately, no trials are scheduled for the Western USA at this time. Persons wishing to participate must have a genetic confirmation of CMT 1A or have immediate family who has had the gene testing with confirmation by the NCV testing. The age range is 13 - 70, and unfortunately at this time will not consider women who are pregnant. No charges to trial participants will be made, but it is the participant's responsibility to pay their own transportation for check-ins. The trials include 2 visits a year to the trial site over a period of 2 years, even though the trials will last for 3 years. 80% of trial subjects will be given an oral dose by mouth and not a placebo to begin. As the trial progreses, if the results are positive, all of the participants will be given a high dose of Ascorbic Acid.
