Re: stretching the cruel shoes

All of my shoes require breaking in. I can't just buy super wide because my

heels are super narrow. My arches are extremely high and my toes curve in

directions of their choosing. My braces add the

challenge of additional width and height in the toe box and arch.

Once in a while I find a pair of sneakers that work with a lot of stretch and

room in the ball of the foot, one pair of Adidas work as well as a pair of

simple sneakers, this is the exception to the rule

however. Most Addidas don't work - most simple don't work- most everything

doesn't work. I don't have regular access to an orthotist either.

I apprenticed with a boot maker in Marin for a little over a year & had a couple

pair of boots made. Unfortunately I am not creatively drawn to shoe or

bootmaking. Stretching what is as close to fitting helps as does having custom

boots made (when I am not in grad school

& I feel rich).

CMT seems to reinforce industriousness & creative approaches to daily questions.

Where there is challenge there is growth.
