Gretchen and the rest,

Is there a relationship between CMT and ringing of the ears?  If anybody knows

of anything, kindly email me here.   This is for my youngest son.

Hello Tessie,

The only relationship I know of is that I have both. Meniere's testing has been

done on me some 35 years ago and the results was that I had some deficiencies

but not enough to suspect Meniere's present.

My son is 13 and was just diagnosed with CMT type 1. He also complains of his

ears ringing.He said it happens all the time.

I was diagnosed with Meniere's disease 15 years before my CMT was

diagnosed. Meniere's is more of a metabolic problem as the primary

disease process is increased pressure in the middle ear. Meniere's

complicates CMT as its balance issues only compounds the balance

issues from the loss of pedal proprioception from CMT. The number of

CMT/Meniere's sufferers is interesting, and I wouldn't be surprised

that there is some genetic component not yet recognized.

Basically both diseases individually suck, and the combination causes

real issues.

I've had ringing in my ears for a while now. I've always blamed it on going

crazy from the stress CMT seems to bring about.

You're the 5th CMT person that has mentioned re: tinnitus.  I'm very concerned

because my eldest has CMTx.  My youngest son has ringing ears 2 years ago, then

went away. Now it came back worse.  Has seen 3 gen. practitioners that

prescribed antibiotics since last month.  Had seen EENT specialist for hearing

tests; did find anything, want an MRI done.  He can't sleep without Zopiclone;

was sick for a week; trying to work this week inspite of above. 

He doesn't have the s/s that my eldest has except for back pain. We have been

reading re: tinnitus and hyperacusis which is relevant to his complaints.  He

has seen a chiropractor, massage therapist and acupuncturist 2 times.  I'm

trying to find a good audiologist for tinnitus evaluation and tinnitus

retraining therapy. It looks like this disease, tests aren't included with our

AB health care & amp; insurance expenses. 

We have read several websites on Hyperacusis in the US.  They mentioned too,

that MRi isn't good because of the noise.  But I'll likly to go ahead with the

DNA test.  Both tests were used to dx my eldest.  I'd like to rule out CMT or

whether this is related to CMT.If you can share your knowledge, experiences,

I'll appreciate it.  May God bless us all.

I used (Young Living) Myhrr, did put it in my ears..... helped with infection and the ringing that went with that. Brain Power was nice too, but I ran out quickly so Myhrr had to do the trick. Vida

You can also use the Young Living Oil - Helichrysum for ringing in

the ears - and/or add some incense mixed with the Helichrysum

as well. NOT recommended to put the oils in the ear(s), however on

the ear itself and down the neck along the eustachian tubes. One

can also put the oils on a cotton ball and place the cottonball in

the ear. Grapefuit and Citrus Fresh has also worked for others as

well as Lobelia. Use your intuition.

The only thing the SCIO is showing an extreme in is my ELF and EMF's these numbers were in the 200-300 hundreds. My husband has the same problem and again the SCIO showed high numbers here. Decided to see the exposure on the house and what do you think showed up. Where can I get my hands on software that contains the young living product line. Is there any data that can be loaded into the clasp 32 program that will offer this information as a dropdown under the table of contents or a product search item? Regards

I, too, just received his CD and I must say I really like it. I'm having really good luck with it with clients too. I still haven't been able to get to myself though working with my ringing in my ears. I need to do it soon, I have clients coming with the same problems.
