Guest guest
Hello everybody I have not been posting much lately and I am sorry...I have been reading all the posts though...(((((HUGS))))) prayers and positive thoughts to all that need or want them. My husband and I both went to the doctor this week... My husband saw his pain doc yesterday (unfortunately I was not able to go with him) The doc decided to leave things as they stand for now, to see if he can tolerate it, and will see him again in a month. The nerve block(cervical) wore off 3 weeks ago and the lumbar ESI never did anything. He is in PT 3 times a week and on NSAID's and muscle relaxants(they don't help much). The insurance company called yesterday...again they are reviewing his case because it is taking so long...it was reveiwed by a nurse(on their payroll) and they are trying to make sure that all the treatments are and have been for the accident injuries only, since the MRI's showed DDD (minor in cervical anf thorasic and significant in lumbar). He never had any symptoms or pain before the accident(didn't even now it was there) So I guess we wait again to see if things get better in the next month with PT. He has had very little to no improvement in 9 months(except for a small amount for the first 2 weeks after the nerve block). I had my appt. with our GP(an osteopath)on Monday. For starters he was NOT happy I had waited so long to go in(insert shameful blush here) He did several adjustments to help me regain ROM in my neck (lost about 50% on left and 30% on right) and realign my hips...rt hip very high...what confused/suprised him(though since he knows me it shouldn't)was that that was the leg that was longer(usually opposite one). He gave me PT excersises for my neck. He doesn't feel (from the xrays he saw...which he said were not good) that my spondy, lordosis and kyphosis are that bad (since the spondy is not at l5-s1 and therefore still stable there) but didn't do new ones. Since a brace and surgery were discussed 13 years ago he wants to see the xrays from then, they did a myelogram? at that time(my mom is sending them to me) so he can see why those options were discussed.(The recent xrays don't show thorasic. He didn't give me anything for pain...so for now I will continue to destroy my stomach and liver etc. with Aleve and ibuprofen. I have not had any improvements(except more mucles pain from the adjustments...my kids have check-ups on Monday...so I will update him then. He said if I didn't have any improvement he would send me to PT. He did not address any of my other concerns(think I have CFS/FM...from what I can tell I hit 14 of the 18 FM points). He did say the spondy could be causing nerve issues(hmmm...that probably would explain my arm and leg pain, numbness and weakness...sorry sarcasm there). I am sort of irritanted that he didn't seem to take me seriously... He has been our doctor for 6+ years. I know he tends to be very conservative at first...so I am hoping once I update him he will.(He was the same with hubby 1st appt...then 2nd one he got moving) and he is probably being cautious since he has been my doc for so long and I have never seriously addressed these issues with him before(my own stupidity...plus never had the cervical stuff before...and the spondy etc flares never lasted long if I rested once it started and I just dealt with the arm problems...the legs are new...but it has been 3+ months and getting worse) Sorry to have written a book...thanks for reading Blessed Be, Lee
