I'm a student, and as a result, I have limited personal funds and

limited personal space. I discovered the Steel Bow through Amazon and

prior to this had never heard of a bullworker before. All the reviews

were excellent so I took a chance. So far I like it and am impressed

with the product. At any rate, what I am curious to know is if there

are some long-term bullworker users out there who use the bullworker

exclusively as their only form of strength training and what kind of

results they have gotten.

Also, what types of routines do you construct for yourselves and what

do you do for aerobic exercise in addition to your bullworker

routine? I am curious because I am trying to construct a fitness

program that is inexpensive, simple and effective. I don't expect it

to be easy, I'm not looking for shortcuts. I just want something that

is simple to understand and execute. If anyone has anything to offer

I'd really appreciate it. Thanks a lot!

I have a BW2 from 1974. While that makes me a long term

user (I have since acquired an X5 and 20-inch Steel Bow),

I did not use the BW2 exclusively. I've " gone through "

Dynamic Tension of Atlas, West Point Program,

circuit training with weights, high intensity weights

(Mc's Brawn), as well as martial arts.

What I could say is that the BW is very effective for

building muscle and strength via isometrics, for which it

is now famous for. But we must not forget that it could

also be used non-isometrically for resilience, endurance,

etc. The only reason I did not use it exclusively is that

I liked doing other things.

Now that I'm past 50, I no longer have much time or interest

in the " other things " and the BW's role in my fitness is

getting bigger and bigger. And I don't doubt that it can

end up being the exclusive training method of anyone. I still

like doing squats, push ups, leg raises, Roman chair sit ups,

and of course, martial arts.

As I mentioned, the Bullworker is not just for isometrics or

strength and muscle building. It is almost a complete health

system (just add nutrition). If you can access the " Files "

section of this yahoogroup, download the 1980 X5 Manual, and

you can see how we can use the Bullworker way beyond isometrics.

The Bullworker II Manual has a page describing the different

types of training (which we could apply using our Bullworkers):

muscular power, endurance, resilience, metabolism, endurance

capacity, and circulation. A copy of this can also be downloaded

from the Files section of this yahoogroup.

I have since learned that aerobics for cardiovascular fitness

is not the way to go. Interval training is the best approach.

The X5 Manual shows how we could use the Bullworker for

interval training. You can also read the Dr. Sears Newsletter

in the " Files " section describing a form of interval training.

Why not? LOL

I find Bullworker training the best shortcut! ;)

Go get those manuals and anything else you might think useful

from our Files section. :)
