Guest guest
Sorry guys, I tend to do everything arse-backwards. I'm also cross-posting this to a few groups because I suspect I never gave an intro in them, either. To those in Adult-Asperger, I am currently one of your two moderators, in case you did not know. is the other. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 Here goes:I'm 42 and diagnosed in April with AS and another unspecified LD related to processing/executive function... but I began to study and learn finding myself smack dab in the middle of the Spectrum during August of 2006 when I met the daughter of a musician friend. She (his daughter) is fascinating to me, and in her Autistic World she seems to really be so happy and enjoy life. (At least, until you try to interfere with " her show " ) It just blows my mind! So that's what led me to read and study... and join groups like these. : )I've been married for 22 years (June 5) and although I've left him several times, my husband has always stood behind me even when he was afraid to open his eyes and watch what was happening with me (meltdowns, chaos) he's an odd man - dunno if he's Autistic but definitely a " horse of a different color, " as they say. I have kids ranging in age from 6-22, as follows: B22 () in US Navy, G17 () works for Quizno's and HS Junior, B16 (*) HS Sophomore, B14 (Timmy) 8th grade, and G6 (Selena*) Kindergarten. There was also one more which I gave up for adoption, but that's a story for another time. The starred ones (*) are those I suspect to be Autistic... considering testing 'em but they're not having any issues so if it ain't broke why fix it? On the other hand there's safety in numbers... I'm a singer/songwriter and also enjoy writing speeches, essays and other material, including a novel based on the premise that Homo neanderthalensis never went extinct, he simply went underground. If I do say so myself, I believe it's quite good. Recently I've begun attending Toastmasters meetings and will soon be joining so that I can learn to imbue my performance with the final 2% I lack: persuasion. Then LOOK OUT WORLD, LOL I'm also a webmistress (I build/redesign/maintain websites as well as offering hosting, SEO and other services from tutoring to print layout and more, etc.)So there you have it, I guess. Who and what I am, what I do... if you google me you'll find enough data to choke a rhino. Take small bites, please.
