Guest guest
, In my early years of work (high school days) I worked in both retail and offices. Being in retail killed my feet - standing and walking for 8 hours was horrible. But I kept quiet because I loved work. Once out of grad school years later, my museum and fundraising careers gave me the chance to learn to pace myself. All jobs had components of being on my feet, plus having the chance to sit and work, go to meetings, etc. I still work, I am on my feet some, then at my desk some, in and out of hearings (that's seated stuff) and throughout the years with CMT I learned to pace myself in everything I do. I mean everything. There are certain times of the day I workout, just because I have more energy, then there are certain times of the day I sit and read because energy wanes towards evening. Getting to know my own biorythyms and what my best times are for different activities has been a plus in managing CMT. ~ Gretchen
Guest guest
Hi , I am so sorry that you are struggling both finacially and physically. It is very hard to except physical limitations. I know it drives me up a wall. I beat myself up about it a lot. I would rather go back to the way that I used to be before all of this. It is VERY frustrating. I usually have a pitty party for myself about once a month. It helps a lot!!!! I am in the process of disability. Turned down the first time and had to get a lawyer. He is taking his good ole time too. But I am looking into other lawyers at this point. The first time I was turned down I did not have the CMT diagnosis. So maybe it will make a difference. I also had to give up a F/T job. too physical. Now I work three days a week as a office manager/chiropractic assistant. It ususlly is about 12 to 14 hours a week, but trust me that is more than enough!! I truly sympathize with you and everyone else suffering! I will keep you in my prayers.
