Guest guest
Hi Jackie, No I didn't have the swelling in one breast but was told that one breast was much more difficult than the other. Boy, did I know it. My left breast was in so much pain. I was on perkocet for about a week and then darvocet after that. I didn't really have all that much swelling. Even the doctor was surprised by this. He told me that he worked a while on the left breast and had to cut through alot of stuff just to get it and the capsule out. The right breast didn't even hurt all that bad. If it weren't for the left breast being so painful, I probably would have only been on the pain killers for the first day. My scar on that side is alot worse than the right one too! It looks terrible but I'm just glad that they are out. Have you spoken to your doctor about the swelling. You really should call him and ask about it if you haven't already. Hope you are back in that canoe soon! No pain, it's just that I want to be perfectly symmetrical, and all better, and able to pull my canoe down the river. Yes, I do have a crazy canoe. So, I know...I'm impatient; but, did anyone have swelling in the breasts? Why do I not have swelling in both breasts? Dr. M. said the left was a more difficult explant, so I guess I can understand. Did anyone have this bigger than the other one swelling problem???? I'm trying not to focus, and trying to be positive. I know I am so fortunate to have less problems than others have survived through. I'm just a little concerned. Dr. M. e-mailed that it is normal to have more swelling in one if the one was more difficult in surgery. I just don't feel normal......Jackie 10 days post-opOpinions expressed are NOT meant to take the place of advice given by licensed health care professionals. Guest guest
Jackie I was going to say the thing that dr melmed said--that the trauma of the surgery is causing it. How long ago did he email you? If it has been several days, why don't you call tomorrow and speak to him? That might set your mind at rest if he still thinks it is ok. Did you have drains? Do you think they came out too soon? REally, I would just give him a call. Hugs kathy --- In , " crazycanoe1 " <crazycanoe1@d...> wrote: > > I'm continuing to have swelling in the left breast. Guest guest
My breasts were not symmetrical at first after, with the right healing quicker than the left, and I figured it is because I am stronger on my right side and use it more often. I've tried to use my left arm more and stretch it a bit more so that the left will catch up,. It is working althogh slowly. I am one month six days post explant. > > > > I'm continuing to have swelling in the left breast. It's getting on > my > > nerves. Guest guest
Jackie, How much difference is there? . . . Are you still wearing your sports bra 24/7? . . . That should help push fluids out and keep swelling down. In my case, the side where I had a rupture (gel) ended up being considerably lighter than the other - permanently. However, at a glance, they look the same size. Could this be the case? In the meantime, I wouldn't be concerned unless you start having pain, fever or redness. You're most likely going through a healing phase. Gentle hugs, Rogene
