Guest guest
Since I spent years as a computer software developer, my diagnosis of carpal tunnel was no surprise. I tried splints which helped but was not enough for the right hand so I had surgery for it in 2002. A couple of years ago, the symptoms came back along with significant pain in my thumb because of arthritis and I resumed the splint which was still not enough. I bought a trackball to replace my computer mouse and it has made a huge difference. It has eliminated the pain from both the carpal tunnel and the thumb arthritis! I was told I would have to have the thumb joint reconstructed soon but I believe I will be able to put it off for many years thanks to a trackball that cost less than $30 + the use of speech-to-text software!
