Guest guest
Hello again, I am a bit confused. After my explant procedure my explant doctor sent my implants, with the capsule aound them, to a pathology lab that looked at the capsule under a microscope. I also asked her to test the saline inside for various microbes. She told me that she would do it but that it never came back positive for any microbes ( the saline that is). I guess she tested for aerobic and anerobic bacteria. There was one other culture that took 6 weeks to get back. The results came back as she stated--negative. It was interesting that she told me you could put a needle into the implant, extract water, and it would not bother the implant. I was puzzled by the lab reports saying there were no microbes because Dr. Blais told me that the saline was yellowish and there were things floating in it. I called my explant doc who said that it was because they became contaminated when going from her office to the pathology lab and then to Dr. Blais. I still do not know what to think. When I asked my explant doctor what the problem was if it was not microbes she told me I had an immune reaction. Also, by the time Dr.Blais gets implants I do not think he can test for specific organisms--can he? I think it is his opinion in many instances and he may very well be correct. Has anyone gotten a report from him on specific microbes??? Don't they put the implants in formalin?? He did tell me that I would test positive for " atypical microbes " if I had a blood test. I could never find a lab that had a test like this and he never got back to me about it. He said other women had had this bloodtest.
