Guest guest
Sorry sir, I was wrong in my earlier mail about paediatric cpr. ABC has been changed to CAB for all age group including Children and Infants (excluding newly born where its still ABC) Kindly refer my attachments from the Journal Circulation in which the latest guidelines have been published. For children it is still ABC - as in children airway is of prime importance. The conventional teaching is that in children the primary cause of cardiac arrest is respiratory failure while in adults it is arrythmias from an MI. It is going to be confusing to teach to lay people : where they will have to remember two different sequences ! I had CPR recertification a few months back and it was still the ABC sequence for both adults and children. Chest compression should be started immediately even before airway management. Check the video on You tube. Sanjay
