We have a homemade sauna. The heating unit is a brand from the Swiss.

They are known for using their saunas often, and so we thought that

would be the best. The sauna room itself is simply a small section of

our basement which was walled off. We used cedar from the local

forests, and it is truly a healing place. I also purchased a portable

steam room, which I enjoy more.

I also purchased a little face steamer, which is pretty cool. It's

supposed to be a beauty aid. I found one at W-mart. It steams your

face, and I breathe in the warm steam, which is a quick fix when I

don't have time to do the long steam. I'm explanting this Wed. Please

say a prayer. J

I purchased mine at a Home Show . . . It's a

HealthMate . . . When I saw what they were, I knew

that's what I needed. I didn't shop around, or

consider alternatives. I probably could have saved

money if I had, but they delivered it! Where we live,

it would have cost a pretty penny to have it shipped

to us.

Anita's son built hers - in a closet, I think - It

cost about $100, if I remember correctly.

You can spend as much as you'd like . . . But they

don't have to be expensive. The main thing is that you

want to use light elements that emit " far infrared "

light rays (you won't be able to see them), and that

there are enough lights to surround you. It will add

to your enjoyment if you have a window and a radio

(speaker inside, radio outside) . . . You need

something to open to allow a small amount of air to

circulate. The walls should be untreated wood.

If you'll do a websearch for " Far infrared sauna "

you'll see the types and options. I expect the

manufacturer's would have a link to a source near you.

Hugs,

Rogene
