Guest guest
Kenda and others . . . According to Dr. Mannsman, the only way to test for Magnesium deficiency is to take a given amount of Magnesium during a certain period. Then collect urine for 24 hours and test to see how much Magnesium is passing in the urine. Since the body absorbs the Magnesium needed, and passes the rest, they can tell by how much passes if the body needs additional Mg or not. Most doctors test for Mg deficiency by blood tests. That shows only the amount circulating at the time of the test . . . Not the amount of Mg in the bones or muscles. Because of our modern diet . . .and the way foods are raised, many of us have a Mg deficiency. Mg deficiency can manifest itself as Fibromyalgia . . . Something that's becoming all to common! There are a number of medications that caused increased depletion of Mg. . . Neurontin is one. My feet started burning as though I was walking on hot coals after taking Neurontin. . . .Also was having eye twitches! . . . Unfortunately the treatment for burning feet (Erythromelalgia) is Neurontin. After thousands of dollars worth of useless tests, I found Dr. Mannsman's website, took the info to my doc who recommended I see a naturopath. I'm doing much better since then! Guest guest
Hi Rogene, I’m glad you’re doing so much better! The eye twitch thing is strange, isn’t it. Fortunately it goes away quickly when magnesium is taken. I did have a urine test but will check with Dr. Leu to make sure it is adequate. Thank you for all of the info!
