You mean,Brajpal,I was talking to Samir Ansari all these days,when the voice

sounded like yours??!

Just joking,

I know,this happens inspite of having submitted all the relevant documents,while

applying for a mobile chip!!

Once,I was issued a chip,by Loop Company,in Mumbai,activated instantly,only to

be told next day,the number has been deleted from their records and hence I

would need to buy another chip,from the same store,at nO EXTRA cost!.

By then,I was travelling to another city,in India

So,I had to discard that chip and buy a new one.!!

When I had first taken my mobile number, I repeatedly got calls for one Mr.

Sham, who it turned out to be had a plethora of activities, ranging from

providing gensets to arranging mandaps for weddings and even providing cable

connections.

Ultimately, one day I got a call from a person who said, " I am Sham

speaking. "

I said tiredly, " Look! This is not Sham's number. I do not deal with

marriages. I only deal with its after effects. "

The man said, " No! No! I am THE Sham that everyone is phoning you about. I

want to offer you some money to buy your phone number. "

It turned out that he had a BSNL number of deceptively similar sequence. He

offered me a large sum for buying my number. And I would have sold my number

too, only I had already given my number to a number of my secret girl

friends. So it was a tough decision for a Gujju, but I had to refuse the

money.

However, after that, I wrote down Mr. Sham's number and then told all

further callers the correct number.
