Guest guest
I've had my first real fear of the upcoming surgery. Until last night, I was full of peace and ready for it to be over. Then, when I began packing, I guess it really hit me. I'm flying a thousand miles from home, meeting a dr., having general surgery, and hoping that I'm well enough to fly home 3 days later. OK, I've been encouraged by women on this site who have already experienced explant. But now it's ME, and I must share that the fear is real. I prayed, called my friend who is going with me, and talked a bit with my husband, who says it's going to be a difficult week for me. I keep reminding myself that the only breast surgery I have to relate this to is implant surgery, and that was totally different. I guess the most I fear is the physical pain after the surgery. I'm encouraged by other women's experiences, and believe that it will be less painful than the implant surgery. But saying it, and experiencing it are two different things. I'll just have to go through my own experience. I'll keep sharing... I think it will be a week of freedom, and if fear is part of the courage that leads to freedom, so be it. Just sharing what's going on in the moment, 48 hrs. before explant.
Guest guest
I'll be thinking of you! I'm explanting tomorrow, March 29th. Closer to home than you; I'm not traveling far. I send you blessings for safe travel and a smooth procedure. You've chosen an expert and you will be in good hands. Let us know how it goes...my thoughts are with you! hugs, Moss
