Guest guest
Dear Doug, As Steve (was it Steve?) pointed out: action happens, and sometimes I like to tell myself how I had something to do with it. That's where the drama or the dream starts. >> Dear Judy, >>> Whether or not I believe the election was legal may (or not) motivate >>> me to take certain actions, or give up taking any action at all. >> I don't think so. I do what I do. >> >> Love, >> > . -Can you explain your response? > Action is not random, is it? That's a good question to go inside with. And it's not what I said. I wake up in the morning, and I can't find a decision prior to that. And believe me, I tried not to wake up, many times. It *never* worked! So there's an action, not random but without decision. Now, I appear to decide many things: what to wear, what to take for breakfast, to go to work... I am not talking about being controlled by some outer power, but when time comes I *always* seem to know what to do. And where that knowledge was born, I don't know. But I can't help it appearing. Not ever. > I am suspicious of beliefs, but my thought is that I sometimes act on > beliefs. Yes, it can seem that way. And who would you be without them? > If I do, then " motivate " seems to me to be a good word to describe the > connection between my belief and my action. Yes, sometimes there is a motive. And what is a motive but a story? A story about control and manipulation. And if it doesn't work, we try other things. Who would you be, if you could not believe that? > Thanks, Doug welcome.
