Guest guest
It's hard not to feel sorry for women who are caught up on this merry-go-round . . . the next surgery is always the last . . . the last was never enough. It's a shame that our society has put so much weight on looks and not enough on goodness! Of course, with so much money to be made, the temptation overwhelming to appeal to the baser part of the psyche. A long time ago, a visiting minister came to our church. I thought he was the ugliest man I'd ever seen. How in the world, I thought, could he go through life with a face like that? Over the years, he visited on occasion, filled in as an interim pastor, and conducted seminars. Years later I remembered thinking he was ugly. I looked again. I couldn't find a trace of ugliness. His soul showed through, and he looked distinguished . . . and was a beautiful person! I'll never forget that lesson . . . Later when a friend told me about this ugly man she had to work with, I was surprised to see that he was a very good looking guy . . . But, after you talked to him for a few minutes, the ugliness in his soul overpowered his physical beauty. Thanks for the article Ilena! Guest guest
I once heard what I think is the best definition to the word " addiction " ... " When you can't get enough of what you don't really need.
