Guest guest
Hi Marie, I know that with a low Sed Rate like you have that can mean hypercoagulated blood. Anythiing under 5 can mean that however the doctors won't tell you that. If it is not high they think it is good because it means no inflammation but not true especially if you are having symptoms of fibromyalgia. You can take a low dose aspirin daily that will help thin the blood. I think a lot of us have this symptom because it can be caused by exposure to chemicals but it can be corrected. I did have a sed rate of 1 for 2 years and now it is up to 6 which is good. I take aspirin daily and lots of detoxing. Hope that helps Love Judi
Guest guest
Hi Marie, They never said anything to me either, I did some research on the internet to find that out. It could be that because your blood is thick it is not getting oxygen to your hair follicles and if thinned out it could help your hair from falling out. It's worth a try since it seems no one else seems to be helping you with it. Love Judi
Guest guest
Dawn, Here are the test results and numbers. I don't understand any of them. And...she didn't test me for FREE T3 like I had asked her to. CBC with Differential / Platelet Cmp. Metabolic Panel ( 14 ) FSH and LH LH 2.8 FSH 2.5 Thyroxine ( T4 ) Free, Direct, S, 1.20 Estradiol 148 THS 1.365 Sedimentation Rate-Westergren 1 C-Reactive Protein, Quant 0.6 Triiodothyronine, Free, Serum 2.5 ( Is this Free T3? ) That's it. So what do you think? I guess according to the chart in front of me I fall right in the middle of the norm. Maybe some of you experts can shed some light on this. Guest guest
Hi Judy...thank you. I don't have symptoms of fybromyalgia though. I don't have any symptoms except hair loss...Chronic hair loss!!! 200-400 hairs per day. Truthfully, I didn't even know that my blood was supposed to be higher. I assumed that the doctor would have told me if anything was abnormal. Then again, they just want people to slip by. Marie Re: Test Results/what do they mean? Guest guest
Aaaa haaaa!.... Got it... Do you realize your T3 is barely over the minimum? This number should be in the upper 1/3. Based upon this, it appears you would benefit from low dose armour or cytomel. The t3 being low is indicative of poor t4 conversion. Don't let these bimbo doctors tell you that this is normal, at the very LEAST it is more than highly suspect, especially given the huge amount of hair loss. Please understand, your tsh does not need to reflect hypothyroid, but my dear, you have just found thy root of the problem. By the time TSH catches up people are usually pretty ill. Now you need to find someone to prescribe. One more thing.. what is the range for the free t4... you did not list it. Guest guest
Marie, Please call Dr. Lowe. He will give you a referral to someone in California.. he has many many connections there. Based upon your numbers I know that he will agree that it is likely that you would benefit from low dose thyroid medication, atleast temporarily, until you detox the poison out of you. Guest guest
Hi Dawn! I just got home from my NEW doctor appt. He took one look at my thyroid #'s and told me I fall on the low end. He wants me to try Armour for one Month and see if that doesn't help with the hair loss. He also told me to continue on the silica pellets as they cannot hurt. Also to continue on the Biotin. Also prescribed a new B-complex and Selenium. Lots of stuff, I just hope that the Armour will help with the hair loss. One thing I forgot to ask him was if the Armour has side effects of weight gain. Do you know? Do you also know "if" the hair loss if from the T3, how long do you think it will take with the Armour to start kicking in? I am on a very low dose. One per day for 4 days and then 2 per day after that. You are so informed in the thyroid department. Thank you for all of you help!!!! I hope it works!! Guest guest
I think what they're talking about when they say your blood is thick is called Antiphospholipid, or sticky blood. It appears to be at epidemic levels. . . toxins? Taking a .81mg asprin a day is a good treatment for it. . . You can spend mega bucks on tests and prescriptions, but it's not necessary. You can do a websearch for either term and get a lot more information. One implant acquaintance told me her doctor drew her blood, turned to do something, then turned back to the blood. It was already clotted. He was amazed! Hugs, Rogene
Guest guest
Is anyone familiar with 's (I hope that's her name!) newletter " Sticking our necks out " (I think that's what it's called). . . She's not a doctor, but after experiencing difficulties getting treated, she educated herself and started sharing what she knows. Now, she's considered an expert in thyroid concerns. What she says is in line with what is being said here. Rogene

Do you know if she has a web site? All of the info given so far has been from Dawn. She seems to be so well informed on the thyroid issues. I know that she has helped me tremendously! I will keep you informed of my progress on the Armour. I will start taking it tomorrow morning. Marie Re: Test Results/what do they mean? Guest guest
I have to share this link with those who use or are considering aspirin therapy. I hope I don't offend anyone. I would also like to add that according to Kane and others hypercoagulation of the blood is present in many chronic diseases. The therapy for this is to clear the liver and the bilary tree and then heal the cell membrane using phospholipids. Love, Anita Here is the link.http://www.hsibaltimore.com/cgi-bin/perlfect/search/search.pl?p=1 & lang=en & q=aspirin+therapy & x=14 & y=12 Re: Test Results/what do they mean? Guest guest
Marie, I spelled her name a bit wrong . . . But, here's a place to start. http://www.thyroid-info.com/ The last I heard, she was charging a small fee for her newsletter. The website I gave you shows she has a book now. I belonged to her mail list for some time while I was still trying to figure out what was going on with me. Hugs, Rogene
Guest guest
Her name is Shomon, and she not only has a website, but she has written some excellent best-sellers on thyroid disorders and autoimmune diseases, and has her widely read newsletter, which you can sign up for at this link, which is all about her: http://thyroid.about.com/mbiopage.htm Oh, by the way Marie, you asked if Armour could cause weight gain....and the answer is that it should not at all! That would actually be contrary to it's intended purpose, since it's primary goal is to speed up your metabolism, through providing needed thyroid hormones. A sluggish thyroid causes weight gain. If Armour does anything at all, it should have the side effect of causing weight loss through revved up thyroid activity. Patty > Hi...I can't say I have ever heard of her. Guest guest
Marie!!! So happy for you!!!! Your hair loss will stop within 1 to 2 weeks.. if it does not .... i'll bite my tongue!!! HOpe not though, cause that will hurt!! I am so happy you also got the armour!!! How much armour? You will not gain weight with armour... but you need to be diligent in making sure that your doseage is high enough. You should take a baseline blood pressure reading and heart rate. Monitor every couple of days at first. We'll talk more about this... please tell me the doseage.. This is great news!!! See... now you have validation, it was those freaking implants all along... We all have thyroid disorders.. Is that a coincidence or what? Hugs, Dawn In , " Marie " <marie.johnson3@c...> wrote: > Hi Dawn! > > I just got home from my NEW doctor appt. Guest guest
Dawn, The dosage on the Armour is 30mg ( .5GR ) per tablet. I am taking 1 tablet for 4 days and then 2 tablets every day after that. I guess to introduce it into my system slowly. Is this enough do you think? My blood pressure is very good...so good that I forgot to ask what it was. The nurse just said that my blood pressure was excellent! I'm not sure what you mean by taking my temp. and blood pressure and what that will tell me. Besides, how the heck do you take your blood pressure at home anyway? Let me know if this is a must though..ok. I just hope I'm not filling all of my eggs in one basket. Isn't that the saying? I hope this works because I do feel like it is the cause and will be fixed with the med. The count down begins for you right? What's the exact date again? Guest guest
Marie, That's EXCELLENT! Finally a doctor who isn't afraid to start patients on real doses! The plan sounds great. I have a blood pressure machine at home.. it's small, costed like, actually I forget, but not too much. I need this to monitor my situation due to the fact that I am on HUGE amounts of thyroid meds. No, I didn't mention taking your temperature.. I said baseline heart rate.. That you should know for yourself.. but your doctor obviously knows this and if you have any issues you could just call them. And you made ME laugh too... what a trip.. so you were the guinea pig in your circle, huh? Well, so was I except for the fact that all my friends immediately followed and got the implants... I was the only one who got sick and now they think I'm just nuts!! No, you're not " putting all your eggs in one basket " .. just don't give up on detoxing.. there is a reason your body is screaming for thyroid support... but, you have in fact found the reason for the hair loss, the t3 test told you so. It's too bad that internist didn't do the thyroid antibodies test like we were saying though... that would have been good to know to see if it's an auto immune thing. Just as well. Yes, the count down is on, April 13, 7 more days, I am totally freaked out. I know I'm supposed to remain positive and all.. but I find myself tearing up alot. It is sad.. but that's only because I'm not looking at the bright side at the moment.. I need a GRATITUDE adjustment. Hugs..
