Well I caught a stomach bug from one of the little darlings I care for. I spent

last night throwing up and well you know. Unfortunately not always making it to

the bathroom because my legs don't work so good. I am what my mother call a

violant puker, she always said I throw up from my toes. My body always ached

afterwards but never and I mean never have I ever been in this kind of pain. I

can barely type, or move my arms. I feel like my face is swollen, I do have a

fever but I believe this is part of the bug I have. To get up and move takes

every ounce of muscle I have. I feel like I was beat up and are just waiting

for the bruises to show up. Has anyone felt this way? What do you do? I just

want to take something to make me go to sleep until this is over....Oh and when

I do move my whole body tingles.

As another member pointed out to me recently, just because others are

suffering does not make your situation less important.

I would find long term swelling a bit frightening, especially with the

numbness included. There are so many things that can contribute:

allergies, circulation, thyroid, etc. You may have to get second and

third opinions, maybe from doctors that you don't inform of your current

fibro diagnosis. (Sometimes they get a little to inclined to blame it

on the obvious, when it is not always such the case). I would keep

exploring answers.

Good luck and feel better - ljg

feel your pain everyday of my life and no pain pill or anti depression

pill they try to throw down my throat has helped. I get the fibro label

and I get that for part of this.....BUT my hands and ankles swell and my

hands arms and sometimes feet go numb every night with pain. This is not

part of fibro . I do not ever get a fever. and other wise I am healthy

as I take very good care of myself with eating sleeping and knowing my

limits. You rarely see me post becuase I feel there are so many others

that have deeper health issues than myself. But I do alway read hoping

to find something that relates to myslef I can bring to my doctor as

they never have new news.....

Yes, there are many other reasons for pain and numbness. My brother-in-law

was just diagnosed with diabetes. (He is 30.) He had pain in his legs, and

numbness in various places that came and went, and he knew something was

wrong, but he *never* suspected diabetes until the bloodwork came back. To

be honest, I suspected that he was developing fibro, because it sounded like

a lot of my symptoms and because his dad has fibro, too. I was shocked! So

we should all keep in mind to keep checking into things, to rule out other

issues.

My legs bother me a lot when after I've gone grocery shopping or been on

them too long. I was beginning to wonder if " pad " was in the picture.

This winter has been the most difficult one in my entire life. I

couldn't walk through the house though the thermo was at 75 degrees

inside. Along with that a low grade fever has been present off and on

with no specific symptoms-no vomiting-

Being diagnosed in 1989 and re-diagnosed last year with the same thing

justified what I've been telling my family, coworkers and friends all

these years. However my sil thinks I may have a case of lupus or the

onset.

It's great to be back " home " and be amounst friends.

You said a mouth full, if you tell them you have FM/CFS they'll treat

you different, of course it may not happen to you but it is my experience.

Debra I don't know where you live but I would consider going to a Mayo Clinic. I

went years looking for a diagnoses and spent one hour with Dr wang and he told

me what I had. Then they had me see several specialist to confirm hi diagnosis
