Guest guest
Hi Jan and all, thanks for your response. When I'm thirsty, it would do me well to get me something to drink, and I suppose it requires a feeling of care about this body in order to get myself a glass of water. Would you say that this feeling of care is the same as bodily- identified ego? And if not, where would you draw the line between taking care of this body and having a bodily-identified ego? This body appears to be a vehicle of separateness. In reading the God intoxicated lives of some of the boys from India and Christian mystics from the 11-13th centuries, immersion in THAT was so all encompassing they had people take care of them to feed and give them water...but the desire to eat/drink did not appear to arise from them. Who needs water if one is truly connected to the ocean? Heck I'm so dense right now that if I'm offered a bowl of oatmeal or knowledge of THAT - at this moment - I'm takin' the oatmeal. Blessings - Jan The line grows more and more subtle.
Guest guest
Hi Eva, Nope, I am only saying that there does not appear to be anything the " bodily-identified ego " can or can't do to have any real effect upon when enlightenment occurs. I guess we could tell ourselves stories to the opposite; but, I certainly do not know. :-) Blessings, Steve D. > > > > Dear Eva, > > > > You said to Jan: > > " Enlightenment can wait... :-) " > > > > **Yes, it can, but I doubt if it will, oatmeal or cheeseburgers or > > not. :-) > > > > Merry Christmas, Steve D. > > Hey I don't know man...are you saying you know?
